I'm Randall and I live in Newberry, FL. I triked my '05 gl1800 last year. I put about 1500 miles on it then, but Achilles tendon trouble grounded me until very recently.

Question: how likely is a trike to tip over in curves (like entering a freeway)? maybe I don't enough miles experience on the trike. I do have a lot of years and miles on bikes.

Hi Randall. Welcome to the family
First, it is hard to flip a trike! Not impossible if you are really hot-rodding it, but tough to do. They are very, very stable.
Secondly, did you put a rake kit on it when you triked it? If not, I would strongly recommend you consider it. You would find curves like you are describing to feel much more comfortable for you. The rake kit gives the effect of power steering!

I did install a rake kit about a week after installing the trike kit. You're right the rake kit made a big difference. I am just so used to leaning in the curves and corners on the bike...it seems dangerous to simply steer instead. After I sent in my "new to forum" note, I did see the part of the forum containing a lot of useful info for new trikers.

Welcome aboard Randall, glad you joined us. Trikes a very very stable. You will get used to the ride. Some of us still lean just because. As you gain more experience you will be more comfortable.

Welcome to the forum !!! I like Gorilla still lean I think its just something you get used to......Just makes me feel more secure and I know it helps in real fast twisties as I have Independent suspension ... I can feel the difference between just setting there and leaning into it !!
