Couple of Problems

Well it's been great weather for riding, sorry all you northerners, I've put about 400 miles on in the last few days. I have found a couple of problems first is the trunk release, it will not lock. The latch will not engage, not even if you just push it with your finger. Then I have a crack above the gas peddle area where the inside black meets the colored body, pictures to follow. I was just sitting and watching boats in the bay and had my feet resting in the empty area and noticed the crack.

I did find a way to solve a air leak with the suspension, run the pressure up to 90lbs., then down to 35 and what it does is reset the check valve. I got that from a fellow down here who "test rides" for the factory. He is on his fifth Stallion.:eek:

I noticed when your Stallion was at Dothan that it took a lot of key pressure to release the trunk. Mine releases very easy. You may be able to shim under the loop inside the trunk. This would allow the catch to engage more easily.

I had the same problem with my trunk lock. You had to slam it for it to latch.
I took it to the factory. Luckly I only live about 150 miles from there. They replaced the lock and it has worked as smooth as silk ever since. I hope you have someone close that can take care of it for you because it sure gets frustrating when you can't close the trunk.

I have had my Stallion about 10 days now. It is at Ford dealer service shop for 3rd day now. 2 issues. Ignition switch needs to be "reclocked" as it will not work with steering wheel in top tilt position. Other issue is replacing the alternator. I had a voltage drop to 11.5 or so. The battery wire connecting to alternator post on the back had a too large terminal which did not seat properly. Result was engine movement loosened the term. nut, alt insulator melted from sparks, nut on post was welded on.

These are both assembly defects due to lack of quality control at TBMS.

Warranty will cover it, but with problems at 500 miles, not a good experience.

Hopefully, I will get Stallion back from Ford today.

Dude, I can only hope that things get better. I am really suprised at the lack of detail taken by TMS at the factory. Once you get the bugs out all I can do is wish you Happy Riding!

Roadrunner, we had the same alternator nut problem last year with my wifes stallion. We got lucky that the shorting only melted the boot before we had Russel at the Daytona factory dealership fix the issue. No problems since and its been almost a year exactly. No issue with the key switch. Ted
