Salem Witch Ride

Any New Englanders in the area, tomorrow is the 23rd annual Salem Witch Ride for MDA. Leaves Boston Harley at 1pm, and ends at Shetland Park in Salem, MA. Absolutely AWESOME sight!!! Hundreds (some year's estimated it in thousands!) of bikes converging on this little seaport town...the street literally shakes as they go by!!

Looks a bit chilly again for me this year, but I will definitely be there to watch them go by and cheer them on!

Sounds like fun, Cheri! I had the chance to visit that area several years ago then ended up spending the afternoon at Gloucester. Very interesting part of the country!

Sounds fun. Too bad I only get up to Boston area on Tues for business. At least I get to trike it.

Battery died - and people got in the way! - but I managed to get quite a few pics. The first three (flag waving) is just an idea of how WINDY it was!!! The ones of the bikes parked are the ones that were there waiting for the ride to come through - the ride itself starts with the police escort.

That's about when the battery in my camera died. The bikes continued coming for another 20-30 minutes after I stopped taking pictures. The sponsors anticipated 3000 (yes, that's thousands!) riders based on the registration, but said a LOT more showed up! The estimates I heard ranged from 3000-6000 total - hard to get exact figures because people joined & left as they went through the various towns on the way to Salem. I can't wait to hear how much they raised!!

IHP, there were so many more that I couldn't get pics of - and some of the bikes were decked out big time too! There was a Spyder all done up with spider webs, but he was gone before I could change the battery in the camera. There was also a red GW trike that was all tricked out, but I couldn't find him afterwards. With 3000-6000 bikes/trikes there, I almost got whiplash trying to see them all!
