That's where ours was also. We had a tan colored phone that (I think) cost extra. The extra-long handset cord always needed to be un-twisted. That was one of my jobs..... And the phone, of course, belonged to Ma-Bell. We just rented it.

A big red n white magnetic trunk sign . Before SUV’s . Then the odd even routine came. All first responders were exempt from that , but the war still was on . Just show your card to the pump jockey.

I was one of the lucky one when it came to getting gas....Brother-in-law owned a gas station 5 miles from me....But i really didn't need gas from him....I was a monthly tenant at a parking garage in Mid-Town Manhattan...They had gas pumps in the building , And had to show that they needed extra gas for their tenants so i have to fill up there and they would just add it to my monthly parking bill...
