Not sure what it is but sounds like gears in rear ending clunking----no noise when i have torque on drive train. Pull clutc handle in removing the torque and it has a loud clunking sound. Also noting a "jerking sensation" when letting trike slow down with clutch engaged
Any ideas ? Left a message at Champion trike waiting for return call

I hope that is what it is. Am at the mercy of a repair facility i am not familiar with. They are listed as a Champion installer/service facility (in McAllen Tx ) so will see.
Called them yesterday and told me to bring it in next week and they would look at it.

do Goldwings have driveshafts like the vtx's ? has anyone had universal joints go bad ? ( seems unreasonable for just 15,000 miles ?

Hi Meredog see you must be in Texas already, starting to get cold here in Mi. The goldwings do have drive shaft and if champions use stock front joint like Motor Trike it may be problem. Motor Trike went to bigger front joint a couple of years ago. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Well, you no the hassles I had with my GW and Champion. But, I did learn the U joints were the same as stock. Make sure he checks the whole shaft.

Enjoy your winter

up and going again.
Champion repair facility changed a bad rear end seal this past summer. Seems when it was done the same "crush" nut was used and not tightened properly or it came loose as i used it.
the place i just took it tightened it back up again after applying red locktight. They said it might hold for a long time but that these crush nuts should not be reused,
Champion said they would send a new nut and pay labor to install it.

Might want to reconsider compliments to Champion trikes.
Promised crush nut some 3 weeks ago still not received----will Never respond to emails.
Seems like an awfully cheap part to damage their credibility with.
Nana once gave us a name of someone there to speak to but am unable to locate the name ?

WELL YOU KNOW THE PROBLEMS I HAD !!!!

I called numerous times emailed etc... The help desk was very empathetic etc.. but never got answers or results.

I would try calling !!!!! At least you get to talk to someone....

I Have called and spoke to their "tech" department, as has my repair facility. Cannot get anyone to verify when or if parts were sent , seems three weeks would have been enough time to have traveled from Ca to Tx.

If you go to the Champion web site Welcome to Champion Motorcycle Trike kits, Trike conversions, Hard Bags, Sidecars, Trailers, EZ-Steer, Reverse Gear and look at the top of the page you will find a tab labeled "company". Hover over that tab and a drop down will appear labeled "staff" or somesuch. Click that and names and photos of all the Champion folks pops up along with their positions in the company. Hope this helps.

BTW, Joseph Smith is the guy I talked with when my tail light lenses melted. He was very helpful and sent me new lenses and pigtails under warranty.
