Update

An update on the "Beast" as my daughter so eloquently puts it, just before I throw a wrench at her. Removed the body with a couple friends help, heavier than I thought it would be. A wires for engine are in place and hooked up. Got new twist throttle and cable in yesterday, its on and ready. Gonna remove the carb., this afternoon and clean it. She'll run at higher rpm's, but doen't want to idle, probably needs a good cleaning. Talked the wife out of lime green, thank God. we're going with a dark blue or midnight blue with a little silver pearl in it. I do have a question though. There is some rust on the front wheel. What is the best way to clean that off and re-chrome or do i just need to send it of and have it re-done?

What size/type of front wheel? Depending on your answer, it might be cheaper to replace the wheel rather than rechroming (have you priced chrome plating lately?). If you do elect to rechrome, just leave as is and the plater can clean much easier and better than you can. Otherwise you might try some "Mother's Aluminum or Chrome Polish" and some elbow grease - that might get you by without replating at all.

Haven't priced re-chroming yet. Got another front wheel, that would probably be my best bet. Just put it on and be done with it.
