    Question K-Lever Brake System

    Has anyone else installed and used this dual lever system?
    I have mine set up as front and back brake on the right handlebar (back brake pedal removed due to stiff leg)

    I don't see why this is not standard from the factory. A trike behaves more like a car than a bike (you can apply the brakes mid-turn). For most people they could link the brakes using the pedal. I'm surprised by the number of HD riders who never use the front brakes and a linked system would be a good mod.

    I had to google up the system, I've never heard of it. Seems like a great idea if you have a physical handicap. A friend on another board had Polio as a child and has ghost wheels on his Ultra. He only uses the front break because he has very limited use of his right leg. I sent him a copy. Our off road quads are Polaris. They use a proportioning valve system in the break lever. 70 / 30 ratio front to rear. The pedal is mechanical and for 'emergency' only. Works very well.

    I have a friend who is a paraplegic and has a HD sportser with a frankenstein kit. There is a dual lever brake system on the bike and it works great.

    My front and rear brakes are both tied into my front brake lever. No proportioning valve was needed, runs off stock master cylinder.(sp)<br />

    I also have a kliktronic shifter.<br />
    <br />
    Both feet are gone, so the dual brake system and electronic shifter enable me to ride.<br />
    <br />
    I looked at the dual lever brake but we were able to achieve the same thing without the horrendous cost of the K-Lever.<br />
    <br />
    I say what ever gets you and keeps you in the wind is a good thing!
