i put on a pair of kuryakyn spinner front axel covers on my trike, they worked and looked great. one day going down the interstate at about 70 one flew off ( never could find it ) called the company and they wouldn't sell just one, they wanted me to buy another pair -- did everything right when i installed them ( even used red lock tite ) not to get away from this post but spinners on the back would look good

You can make them just buy some spinners that you like from e-bay and a set of hub caps from harley. Drill them get a screw that will tighten up. Use silicone when you install them on your wheels so they will not fly off. I made mine was not my idea I think his name was Bill1Bigdog. he has pics. on this forum

Hello, Being a old hot rod guy, I love the look of spinners. So I was the original one to install spinners on the TriGlide. I have posted some tips on this forum about them.

I first purchased the Harley center caps on EBay(there are two styles out there). In the learning curve one of my first set came off somewhere riding in the city after hitting a chuck hole or something. I made up another set but added some silicone to the plastic fingers that just snap into the center of wheels. No problems at all at 80 mph or in the city driving with all the road conditions. Had to remove them with just a easy pull on them and I just reinstalled them again with some more silicone and no problems at all.

You can get the spinners on EBay also with different styles out there, 2 bar, three bar, straight design or slanted, smooth or fluted finish, just whatever your like are. There are some pictures here with spinners and my new setup coming with chrome wheels and wide white walls for that old nostalgic look I want. Hope this helps you out of this.

Happy Holidays to all of you out there in Trike land and this great forum!

Ordered two bolt-ons today. Looks like a good fit to the HD Dome hub caps I have on now. Finding the exact center of the hubcap to drill the hole will be important to minimize vibration. Any other tips out there?

I have hubcaps on my TG as well. My only concern is how heavy the spinners are being the hub caps are only plastic. As you said, finding dead center will be critical to minimize an out-of-balance condition and perhaps failure of the hub cap. I haven't looked at the inside of my hubcaps to see if there are any plastic molding marks that might show where the center of the dome is at, but that might be something to look at.

Be sure to post some pics to let us know how the project turned out. This is something I've been considering myself.

As far as I can tell on this forum, I was the first with this mod. As posted before, I learned one tip that I mentioned in my post before. That important tip was: My first set that I made worked out great until I was riding in the city of Cleveland and lost one hub cap with a spinner. After hitting the usual potholes with nothing real violent, one came up missing.

So I made up another set, but I made a simple modification to the installation process. Just before installing the hub cap to the wheel center opening, use some silicone to the prongs that slide into the center of the wheel. Don't worry about using to much. Slide the cap into the wheel in the evening and the next day your good to go! When you want to remove them for any reason, no problem, as they will come right off with a firm tug.

As to the issue of getting the center drilled on center, I had no problem using a combination square with the "V" to find centers of circles. I then drilled a small pilot hole, and drilled it larger to the correct bolt size. Then when I bolted the spinner to the cap it was really close! If your a perfectionist like me: I made sure it was spinning perfectly by using my old turntable and checking it. If is off slightly, just loosen the spinner and slightly move it and then tighten it. I also put a dab of silicone on the center bolt and nut too, just for insurance.

    Hope this helps out.

Thanks for the spinner info. I'm in the process of doing some mods on my wife (TNTriker's) Triglide. She likes the spinner look. I was thinking about taking the hub's to a local Machine shop and having the holes centered in a Lathe. I miss the Company I worked for on stuff like this. I had a fully equipped Machine shop available with well qualified machinist. All I had to do was ask and it was done. Same with Bearing's! I dealt with several Bearing company rep's. I could sure use them now, I'm replacing the front wheel bearing's when I install the chrome wheel. It's hard to find bearing's made in the USA. I found some SKF 6205-2RS1 Bearings on Ebay. Most are made in China now.

Thanks for the info. Will post pictures when installed. I have a lathe and was thinking about using it to find center. I turn bowls so will try to chuck it one of my accessories. Silicone a good idea. Found mine at "Spinner Center" $9.50 each- straight, 3 lug. Look very nice. Coming from Meridian, Mississippi.

I received the spinners yesterday. So I’m starting with two spinners and two dome hubcaps that I had already had on the wheels. The first order of business was to pry off the aluminum trim rings. This will give a flat surface for the spinner to sit in. There is a gooey, foam adhesive left behind that can be scraped off and cleaned up with “Goo Gone”.

I used my bowl foot chuck and mounted the hubcap in it to drill the pilot and final hole for the 5/16-18 bolt. Final assembly and install tonight. Pretty simple to do with parts matching up well.

I bolted the spinner to the hubcap with a 5/16-18 x 1-1/4" socket cap screw, fender washer and internal lock washer. The 1-1/4" length was perfect. I also used "blue" loctite to add a little more grip. That's it. Done.

I'm going to experiment- Instead of using silicone to help hold the hubcap to the rim, I'm going to try dipping the prongs in that liquid rubber stuff used to coat tool handles.
