    Default Mirrors?

I read somewhere that to remind yourself that you are on a trike, you should adjust your mirrors to catch a bit of the rear body of the trike.

The problem for me is that I have stock Road King mirrors that are wider than deep. If I adjusted them to see the trike body, I wouldn't be able to see much else.

Other than just going bigger, are there any particular mirrors that work particularly well for trikes?

I have the two inch stem extensions, then I have the little 1" convex mirrors on the outside edge of the main mirror. I got the little mirrors at Wally World for about a buck and a half. works great for me.
Here's a look at my setup, sorry for the grainy image, couldn't really find one that showed that well.

I'll have to look for those to see if they'd work on my mirrors.

    Thanks for the tip!

I'm not trying to be a smart A**, but why do you need to be reminded that you are on a trike?

The simple answer is that on a bike, you cut close to curbs, to gas station tanks, to other vehicles, etc, because you're narrow.

On a trike, you're not so narrow.

If you have a lifetime of being narrow, and just days, weeks , or even months of being wider, it doesn't hurt to get a reminder when you look in the mirror.

The convex mirrors are a great, economical solution. I ride two wheels and three wheels about an equal amount of miles every year. What reminds me of the difference is the bike itself. Two Wheeler (BMW sport tourer) I am in that sport bike position, lean forward and can take corners with a lot of lean OR Trike (tri-glide) I am sitting in that cruiser position and think about being back and big in the rear.

Pertend you are in a cager and you want the doors to open, should allow enough space. If you're looking in your rear view pulling up to a pump, honk so i can pull away from in front of you. JUST KIDDING!! Love to all. I use the convex from Wally world also but just for blind spots. The faster I go, the smaller the cagers seem to appear.

Factory HD mirrors for me. Fender-to-fender is 1" wider than the ends of the handlebars, so anywhere the bars fit, the trike kit also fits.

The first thing I replaced on my '11 was the mirrors. Could see down the sides, but not behind me. Replaced with the HD split vision and the 2'' extensions. Have perfect sight of everything behind me now, like Wideglides and others that I leave in the dust!!.. Ha ha!!!!!
