I have been looking at the scala G4. Do you like them? What are the downsides? What type of helmets do you have them on. I use a 1/2 helmet and the better half a 3/4 helmet.
We've had the older Scala and now the G-4. We use them with the modular, flip-up helmets. We really like these helmets - very quiet. The G-4 is supposed to talk up to 1 mile. On a straight-line, with no interfering obstacles, we haven't been able to accomplish this. But they do fairly well as long as we are within 1/4 mile+ a little. We have had more trouble with the G4 set than the older model overall. They are great standing still but clarity and function seem to diminish as soon as you start riding and the further apart you get. We have contacted Scala about this and they don't seem to have much to offer for improvement over the phone. You can go online and download any upgrades to the radios. The CB radios we used to have on our old Voyager VII bikes years ago were SO much better - plus you could enjoy everybody's comments in the group you were riding with not just the 2 of you. But, its better than nothing.

Just found this article re the Scala G4. We'll have to check on this 3.0 update. Maybe it has the "fix" we're looking for.
