Just looking for any info about buying a trike
Welcome phil1945! More info would help.are you starting from scratch? I think all the major kits are good. I ride a 90 model Goldwing with a Motor Trike kit that I really like.My main suggestion would be to test ride as many different brands as possible.GOOD LUCK

Welcome Phil. if you are looking for new. I am happy with my H-D Tri-Glide. They do make it hell to get a test ride. You might want to look around to see if you can rent one to try (keeping in mind, if you have never ridden a trike, it usually takes around 500 miles to get used to it). I also like the looks of the CheetahTrikes but have never seen one in person (see over to right for their ad).
Welcome aboard. Glad you can join us. You may want to check the gallery out there are plenty of pictures there. There are a lot of beautiful trikes there. If you see something that you like, then you can ask questions. You get better results that way.
Welcome to the forum. You've got a great area for trike riding. My mom used to live in Boynton Beach. We visited there often. I've got a 07 Goldwing with the California Side Car kit on it. I'm happy with it so far. Like you've been told see if you can ride as many as you can.
BE SURE to search your area for available dealer for whatever trike you decide on.
Follow up service ---warrenty work can be a problem if you are not within an "acceptable" distance to a factory dealer/service center.
I recently had a need for a problem--called trike mfg only to find the closest
repair facility was over 300 miles from me. Thus, trailering it there--returning home and doing the trip again to retrieve it totaled over 1200 mile of travel !!

There are several threads on this forum that discuss this issue. I found these using the search function.
Here are a few:

Before I bought mine, I spent a lot of time reading the older threads and learned a lot.
Have fun with your quest!
The very best thing you can do is find a great installer no matter what trike brand you pick!
Ask trike people in your area who installed their kit and how they like the installer.

Just take it easy for the first 400 miles or so and it will come to you. if you can find a trike course that would be great but not manditory.

Hi phil1945, you have been given good advice by our friends on the Forum. I was a new Trike driver in the same situation as you almost 4 years ago. I bought a new Gold Wing '08, had it Triked at a local business and thought I did everything right (Trucker's advice is right on). BUT, the installer went belly up and left me to do my own work which has worked out excellent (I'm somewhat of a wrench head as it turns out). I can tell you that learning how to drive was not that difficult; I did take the same safety course that you took (and pay attention to the stuff they teach you such as SEE), be careful when cornering and pulling up to gas pumps because I have seen several people hit their rear fender and damage it (remember you have another 18" or so sticking out on each side). Good luck and enjoy your new trike my friend. I have learned one other thing, Florida is heaven for riders!
