No matter how you boil them, after they're done put them in the fridge. When you want to peel one, crack the shell good and peel them under cold running water....perfect egg every time.
I've hard boiled plenty of eggs and there's always the never ending quest of getting them to peel easy...at least for me! Now I've asked alot of people about their secret about "getting them to peel easy" and I have tried and heard numerous theories, ranging from the older the egg, the easier it is to peel. Not true! And after boiling them and running them under cold water, putting them in refridgerator for a while. Not true! Poking a pin hole in one end with a straight pin before boiling didn't work either!! AAARRGGG!!! I've tried 'em all!!!
This is what I think works best for me......so take it for what it's worth!
I put the eggs in a large pot and just cover with cold water.
Put the pot on the stove and turn burner to High.
Put salt in the water. ( I don't measure any amount, I just dump some in )
Once the eggs start a rolling boil, I turn a timer on for 15 minutes.
Reduce the heat a quarter.
After 15 minutes are done run cold water in the pot for 2-3 minutes.
After running cold water over them I peel them right away. 9 times out of 10 they peel very easy without having to pick a hundred tiny little shell pieces off!
No matter how you boil them, after they're done put them in the fridge. When you want to peel one, crack the shell good and peel them under cold running water....perfect egg every time.
Of all the things I've lost, the thing I miss the most, is my MIND !
Ride SAFE, and free on three!!!
As soon as the eggs are done boiling, immerse them in a bowl or pan of ice water until they are totally cool. This causes the tough membrane between the shell and the egg to adhere to the shell and not the egg.
