Have you had a present or bought a gadget that was of no use? Have you been given one which was good or useless?
Lets hear from you!!!;)
My one would be the Ronco Buttoneer that I was given at xmas as a teenager. I am sure this present was for my mother or sister! My granny must have made a mistake with the labels:eek:

You know, everybody jokes about Ginsu knives--those kitchen knives that used to be sold on TV. But I got a set of them about 17 years ago, and they're still the best knives I've had, for maintaining a nice sharp edge. I especially like the santoku-style one, which is my knife of choice for chopping, slicing, or dicing pretty much anything.

BEST Wine bottle opener that you just lower the handle and raise it back up, out comes the cork.
Worse Any and all the motorcycle stuff Clock that makes Harley sounds on the hour, Harley Phone that makes Harley sound when it rings , Book on Motorcycles past and present, Christmas tree ornaments and figurines ( see Album for one ).. I will think of more and edit this I am sure...

Hey, that reminds me:
The Harley lamp--makes a rumbling motor sound when you turn on the light;
Motorcycle model with two dogs riding it, plays "Get your motor running" whenever you flip the switch on the bottom--which we NEVER do.

Why do people assume that because you own a motorcycle, you want tacky motorcycle stuff in your house? Aren't there any tasteful motorcycle-themed gifts? (Not as far as our families know! :rolleyes:)

Best gadget given to me is most likely an Mp3 player with RAM mounts for both the bike and the trike, from my sister & BIL. They ride, so they know what is needed.:)

Worst: I have a craft making aunt that made a set of toilet seats. Covered the seats and lid with black vinyl, embroidered (she has a machine just for this kind of thing!) the Harley logo on the one for me and the Goldwing logo on the one for my wife. Did a professional job, they look like they came from a bike shop, but sheeesh!:rolleyes:
I have to install them each year when she makes her annual trip down from Minnesota to visit.;)

John and Ozark.... you guys have me cracking up! I love my Harley, but I sure don't want rumbling lamps or embroidered toilet seats!!!! Why don't you guys pass those treasures along at a white elephant gift party somewhere????

My worst gift was a little silver collectors spoon from the Centennial celebration in my mom's hometown. My mom thought I'd want it for a momento of her town of birth---despite the incorrect dates on it that allowed her to buy it for 1/2 price! I didn't.
