Default Anyone change the stock bars on a Triglide?

I just went from an Ultra Limited to a new Triglide. I changed the stock bars out on the Ultra and was just wondering how many of you changed the stock bars on your Triglide and what bars did you go with? Thanks for any input.

I changed mine to the 12 apes, 1 1/4 " wild one chubby's -- its a bear to get all the wireing in the 1 1/4" bars -- if I had to do it again I would go with the 1 1/2" bars -- my hands are about even with the top of the fairing and a lot wider - I really like the feel and the way it handles with these bars.

I'm in the process of changing the stock bars on my wife's 2012 Triglide. I'm installing the HD 2 inch pullback bar's. I put them on her 2010 SG Trike and she loved them. The wiring is not a problem. I had to reroute the clutch cable. still got it through the hole in the fairing, but any higher or longer, I would have to replace the clutch cable. I'm waiting on her J&M Rokker speaker's to be delivered and I'll button her up. Not a hard job at all!

I had to extend all my wireing and ran all the wires inside the bars, I ended up putting a suicide shift on the trike so with the foot clutch the cable is across the down tubes and in front of the oil filter

I recently completed a handlebar swap on my 2012 TG. I went with some new bars by Paul Yaffe called their "bagger bars" (not to be confused with their monkey bars).

They are dimpled and drilled for internal wiring but I didn't want to hassle with trying to run everything internally, especially dealing with the TBW on the right and the reverse wiring on the left. So I left everything external. I ended up extending all of the wiring six inches so I could keep the connectors in their OEM locations. I went 6" over on the clutch cable and installed new Magnum Chromite II brake lines. Of course, I went with all new chrome switch housings, master cylinder, clutch perch, and included Kuryakyn trigger levers.

I went with the 10-inch handlebar, which puts the grips even with the top edge of the fairing. The bike fits my six-foot tall frame much more comfortably.

While my fairing was apart and my bars removed, I also installed an oil temp indicator to replace the air temp indicator, and I added the ipod interface to the stereo. No problems as far as the wiring goes, but I had a heck of a time getting the outer fairing back on.

I added a half-inch of foam to the inside of the fairing to improve the speaker sound and with the added harnesses there sure isn't a lot of room to get the outer fairing back on.

I had the HD 2" pull back bars put on mine and I am very happy with them. On long rides my shoulders love them.

I put the HD 2" pull backs on my TriGlide and love the change. I went ahead and put a longer clutch cable on instead of re routing.

Bruce, do you have a pic of the suicide shift? Can you tell me where you got it? Thanks.

I got the foot clutch and jockey shifter from LaBriola machine, ( lajockeyshifter.com ) I was always worried when Miss Debby was getting on and off trike that she would bump the jockey shifter by mistake -- so I made a tank style shifter ( like I had on my 52 pan ) and like that a whole lot better, actually I made 2 one is a flat style like the original and the other is a round one with a little more pull back. I'll try and pm you some pics. One great thing about the suicide shift is that you don't have anybody asking you if they can ride your trike !!!

I've had the 2" pullback bars on since Aug. & love them. No more neck & shoulder pain. Wish I'd had them on when I drove out to Cal. in Aug. Good investment.

I put Khrome Works + 2 Sweepers on my Road Glide Lehman conversion, all wiring inside the bars, and re-routed the clutch cable. They make the same bar for Ultra style fairing i.e. Tri-Glide. I had my bar powder coated black. I am 6'5", the bars are great for me.

Just wondering if you had a choice between 2" pull backs and the stock how many people would take the pull backs. I have stock but I am sure I would take the pull backs. It always seems sell a bike then let them make it ride able ho well smart business.

I would take the 2 " Pullback bars. I'm 6 ft and the way I like to sit on my bike, the 2 " pullback works for me. I've had this very conversation with a Harley Rep. before. We were at a Hog Rally and he was getting opinion's. I ask why not let People order the bike the way they want it. He said that question had come up many times and it would involve too much time and resources to do. They try to use an average of People's height and weight when designing Bikes. Plus theres a large market for accessories and People's taste are so different they would have to have too much inventory.

Love the way your new Bagger Bars turned out. Your pictures have put me over the top and yesterday I ordered one for my bike. I had 10 inch bars on my Road King for 88K and when I purchased my 2007 Street Glide, there just wasn't many options and didn't want to guess. Great Pictures, Ride Safe!
