Went for a ride, stopped for gas, forgot to replace the gas cap which later blew off the trike somewhere. I hope I'm not the first to do this. Can I get a replacement at a car parts house, or do I have to go to a Goldwing dealer?

I did that with my Kawasaki Voyager, cost me 42 dollars, that will help you remember it. I would bet the replacement will have to be Honda Goldwing but I don't know.

Those of us with Harleys never loose our gas caps.....We know how overinflated the HD cost is for a new one. When in doubt, $100!
Thank's guys i filled the tank on my TG this evening and all this talk about forgetting gas caps. Made me think So i had to run down to my grarge to check.
Still there
Guilty!
Ha ha!! It is easy for me to remember to put on my gas cap. I carefully set it on my seat while fueling.. threads up of course.. That way if I forget to screw it in, I will have an immediate reminder when I sit down!
I asdsume we are talking about gas caps that are under a door - as is the case with my GL1800. I don't recall where I got it but i do remember it was quite cheap - a thin wire tether with a small screw that attached it to the center of the plastic gas cap. When I remove the cap it just hangs there, rather difficult to forget as I can't close the door without replacing the cap. But the cap on the Roadsmith reserve tank is a different problem so that cap always goes in the middle of the saddle while fueling.
I have a 96 1500,that is something I do not have to worry about, the cap is attached to a hose.
Middle of the seat. Uncomfortable when you forget!!
You dont stop riding because you're getting old. You get old cause you stopped riding
Try a autoparts store, if unsuccessful there try a Honda dealer.

</div>Trent, you got the right idea. You got to train yourself to be consistent where you put your cap. I like your idea. I, when I pull up to a gas pump, pull off my gloves, put them in the right tunnel and lay the gas cap on top. Works for me. Your idea really gets your attention if you forget.
