Hey guys i am getting ready to start another project, and just had a quick question... If i do a 45 degree neck angle on my frame, what is the longest front end i can use? I want a nice long chopper look. Is 44" inch to long?

Much more info needed to help select the 'right' springer for your build. How much will the trike weigh?, what kind is it (HD, Honda, etc.)?, what kind of wheel are you wanting on it (16" wide, 21" narrow, etc.)?, is 44" too long? - measured where?.

The springer on eBay is used and appears to be from a metric bike, and I suspect with a little shopping around you can find a brand new one for the same price.

I don't mean to be a naysayer, but if you are building a motorcycle from scratch you really want to give all these things careful consideration. I really don't think you want to end up with a trike that is literally "ridiculous".

All my comments are with best intentions, no knocking of your ideas meant - I would just like to see you have one of the best trikes possible when you build.

VW trike.. Weight will be in the rear, as im keeping the bug body on it. As far as the frame goes, i will more than likely have that custom built.

May wana go with around 20" rim skinny tire.

This is the look i am going for....

The main thing you want to consider is your trail. Too much trail, and you will have to have gorilla arms to turn that trike. If you want a long front end, you will have to rake the neck to get the proper trail, about 1 1/2 or 2 inches of trail.
