New Brake Shoes Locking Up 2004 Lehman Goldwing

Why are you wanting new backing plates? That video is about the 9" Ford axle. I looked at your pictures, you have an early 6.75" integral type carrier Ford axle. Used in some Pintos, Mustang IIs, even some early Bronco IIs, Fairmonts, etc. Lehman either shortened the axles or had new axles...

How Do You Jack Up Your No Lean Susp. Solid Axle for Tire Change?

I had added a long piece under the rear axle that ran from hitch reciever to center stand mount lugs. It stiffened the rear frame too. With the block in place, it jacked it all up as one. Without the block, it let the axle drop. A trike is like a triangle tripod, so if I just needed one side...

    So few trikes

Wife and I drove up the road for a long drive, gorgeous day too. Due to some issues with lymphoma, brain cancer, etc ... I gave up on the bikes and the trike, sold the trike to the original owner's son in 2020 as neither of us felt safe on it, my vision left of dead center was FUBAR .... but...

Cargo Tray for CSC trailer hitch

Mine did not have a receiver until I built one, then I built a carrier that I could stand on, included running and brake lights too ... for those times I left the trailer home. I built the receiver to replace a stock springy flat bar, and added a long lever type piece that attached to where...

    AR

Used to have a M4 issued, got a lot of training on it. Dept did that after 911. Since retirement, been thinking I might get another AR base ... for some reason Dept wanted me to turn that issue one in back in 2010, soon 13 years ago. Was at the inlaw's, and POTUS was talking on the boob...

    2006 lehman goldwing

Are you sure it is a 7.25" ... not a 6.75" which is what all I've seen under a Lehman trike? Think like 1980 Pintos. Ford 9" drum brakes. Not to scale, but to show the bolt patterns. If you have 8 bolts holding the rear cover on, you have a 6.75" rear like other Lehmans.

    Back Savers ....or cranes.

I am getting the MAXXTOW #70238 1/2 ton hitch secured hydraulic crane. It looks easy to set up & use. (https://www.etrailer.com/Truck-Bed-A...w/MT70238.html) I just wondered if anyone here has used one, and if so, any thoughts? Looks like a "back saver" to me. :) It would have been nice...

Just thinking out loud now, no plans .....

Well, some of my chapter's participants ("friends" they are) are still getting together for rides I see, but they generally all live in a cluster about an hour or two north of me. Truth is not as many ride as used to, but still a half dozen or so. I'll admit, been thinking that if Spring...

    "Ticked Off" I am

About 10-12 years ago I bought a Timex Expedition watch with the indiglo light, it also had the date at 3 o'clock in a little window. Well, it was analog watch, I liked it so well that when the stem fell off a couple years later, I bought another exactly like it. Big 40mm face, large numerals...

    Plastic BBs to balance

I was looking for something else and stumbled across this writing I made in 2014 of an experience using Airsoft "Red Jacket" BBs to re-balance the 4 tires of a 1992 Thunderbird Sport. That car has P225/60-16 tires, I thought some might find it useful information for trikes on the rear. There...

    Fuel Mileage

I know, you just ride to ride. I learned a long time ago though to maintain a steady throttle, even in pursuits. When I was a kid, my Dad had a "Mile Mizer" thing in his '54 Chevrolet that was really just a vacuum gauge with the scale marked in colored "zone" … the higher the vacuum, the...

    Chain Saws

For years now I've owned gas chain saws, since 1980 anyway. I learned with my FIL's 10-10, then I bought a Timber Bear 20" 3.4, and I liked Macs, but that thing is stubborn to start if not used OFTEN, but it's a fast cutter. When building my home, a log home, I wanted a light weight, so I...

    Water Softener

Last winter we were in Lowe's, saw a clearance display with a nice price on a Water Softener. Well, my old one was starting to leak in a valve and it was 25 years old, and I wanted to switch to Potassium Chloride softener salt, so I bought it. It's installed and full and is working well … …...

    Potassium Chloride or Sodium Chloride?

Water softener pellets, PC is $33-$35 a 40 lb bag, SC is but $7-$8 a 40 lb bag here locally. Put in a new softener yesterday, I like the PC but a few years ago ended up with SC … gonna buy 8-10 bags, will last us a year+ easily, PC is healthier I know, for us & plants. My outside spigots are...

    Home AC

I know, not related to trikes. In 1990-91 we built our two story log home, I had a combo heat/cooling unit put in, uses hot water off a high efficiency water heater to cycle through a heating coil up top, has pump, etc. AC condenser coil is down low, I bought a second one new from a liquidaters...

    Wondering if it's time ...............

Yeah, been wondering if it's time to sell the trike & trailer & liquidate gear, just give it up? I'm just 66 now, my local GWRRA chapter never was really local, it is like an hour's drive one way to meetings, etc, been with it since '97, even was director for 6 years, met many great friends...

    ... wax the mufflers ...

Forgotten how long it takes but I think it was worth it. Good reminder of why I don't favor wet roads on the trike too. I didn't watch the Bristol Race today, but I had it on and listened as I meticulously cleaned & waxed the trike from end to end, top to bottom too. I was gonna use some...
