16 Tri Glide Speedo-Tach cluster swap

Has anyone here tried using a new set of matching year gauges from a Ultra Limited or CVO on their Tri Glide?

Was it plug and play after the 31 mile counter hit 0 and the gauges married to the ECM?

A while back I bought a set of used '16 Street Glide gauges and installed them on my Tri Glide. The previous owner of them couldn't remember how many miles were on them, so when I married them to my trike via a Techno Research tool, my odometer went from 17k to 38k on the speedo and my ECU. Now I need to buy a brand new ECU and a set of new gauges to return my odometer back to the correct mileage.

Welcome to the club. I was told that after 50 miles a new speedometer cluster attaches to the ECM and is locked to it. I’ve had some want to swap clusters on the previous bike because I had a Dakota Digital and hated it. I traded the bike so it is now a non issue.

What did you not like about the Dakota digital gauges? I've thought about those myself.

The way they looked on mine , I am not sure how old they were but they looked very worn out. I did 111000 miles and 16 years with stock gauges on my 07 and they still looked like new. If I would switch I would want the CVO or the white background analog gauges.
