auto stick info

Believed to be around a 70's trans, maybe out of a fastback. engine #U50. Its in a trike I just bought. Any thoughts about all the air canisters, relays, vacuum pots? Has a little switch on the shift handle going to a relay. Do I need it all on this thing? I've built a couple or so VW trikes but I never had one of these auto shift trans before and know nothing about them. Thank You.

No problem. The only thing I've heard about VW auto sticks is that parts are very hard to find because they didn't make many of them.:AGGHH:

Yes, I have to wonder about them vacuum canisters on this thing. The relays I should be able to convert to newer ones if need be. I haven't seen where anybody has had any trouble with the torque converter. After checking this trike out some more I just discovered it was hit really hard at one time. Enough to have bent the frame back where it was welded on to the IRS. Somebody heated it and bent it back but I'm pretty sure its not in alignment. I will have to deal with that first. Now I know why it was such a questionable good deal for me. A project?? Yep, tiz what it is.
