Axle question on VW

Hey guys....I'm ordering a Rear brake Conversion kit, eliminating emergency brake. What is the difference between short and long axle ?? Should I measure something ? Google it ? Thanks.

I don't know where you are ordering from but check out www.appletreeauto.com From what I remember they have kits that fit both. it comes with a spacer that is used if needed. I think they have some information on their site also. They did at one time anyway.
