Change happens - new ride in the garage

Once upon a time in ancient Greece it was said "The only constant is change." A decade or so ago we sold Gloria's Trike Shop (as Roadsmith was at that time) Runabout to get a Goldwing GL1500 Motor Trike, as touring and 700 mile days were in the plans. The 1500 bit the dust and we got a GL1800 Champion , but in the years since sh has missed the Rundabout, mostly the uniqueness and the automatic transmission, as she has never really got a handle on shifting a motorcycle. She shopped around and 2 years ago we got a Roadsmith Roadhawk. Beautiful machine, was a nice addition to the stable, (1990 Harley FLHS and 2013 Triumph Bonneville T100 2 wheelers, 2004 GL1800 Champion) but it turned out it wasn't the machine she remembered. The Roadhawk is a foot longer, heavier, slower and heavier steering and does ride different than the Runabout. Plus, we are planning to go full time RV, and the 12 1/2 foot Roadhawk doesn't fit in the 12 foot garage. The Goldwing will (is) up for sale, as is the Harley. The Bonnie is going traveling with us, and Gloria wanted something that she could ride herself, and we can ride together. As she never got the hang of shifting, the DCT trans in the new Goldwing is of interest, but the cost factor of a conversion will be prohibitive, and it will be a while before the choices are on the market. Well, the Roadhawk is now gone and something new is in the garage.

Gloria likes the comfy passenger seat, the equally comfy front seat, easy steering, light throttle, single foot brake, and especially the semi-automatic transmission. She likes to ride passenger, but when we are on the road she can take off by herself on the Spyder and be comfortable on it. She is a uncomfortable in the truck - (2016 RAM 4X4 Crew Cab with the 8' box. big and long truck) so the Spyder gives her mobility. Plus it is a different fun ride.

Good to hear Gloria found her comfort ride, one must feel confident on there ride or s..t happens. Ride safe Gloria and enjoy the spyder :clapping:.
