Clutch plates

I have a sinking feeling I may need to replace the clutch plates. I had foot peg lowering brackets on my RStrike and one broke. Long story short. Put the OEM bracket and peg back on. Rolls like it should have but the peg was just pressing on the brake pedal, over heated the brakes and wouldn’t move. Got it back to my garage took OEM peg off and put a new lowering bracket. Will move but just barely. My question is how hard and involved is it to replace the plates or is their something else I can look at first. Feeling like a real dummy about now but any help would be appreciated. TIA for any help.

When the brake pedal doesn't come up all the way all the fluid isn't allowed back into the master cyl. This causes the brakes release properly and after a bit they don't release and there you sit.I would start with making sure the brakes aren't still dragging.Possible stuck caliper from being so hot.

I’ll check the pedal today, it got a little warm out yesterday. I lowered the footpeg when I put peg lowering bracket on and right had to be replaced. I’ll look things over today.

Won't move how? Under it's own power ... or ... when you push it in neutral.

1500s can replace clutch discs in bike, so maybe can on a 1800?

It will barely move under its own power. Seems to roll freely otherwise.

After thinking on it for bit the clutch lever is “soft” to pull to engage.

I’m going to see about changing the clutch oil and trace it back.
