My dealer also gives a one year membership in the local HOG chapter when you buy a new bike.

I was wondering why I got the gift card in the mail. Also got one from the dealer. ThumbUp Sometimes they send me a $5 gift card for no reason other then to say thank you.

GARYD you go there and spend a lot more than $5, so now you know why they send you the $5 gift card.

Buying a new bike automatically gets you a free one year membership in the national chapter. pepper

Also if your dealer is worth anything he will pay for your local membership for the first year !

Yep, for a long time. Not a member of a local chapter. Don't like meetings.

Some people just are not joiners. No problem with that.ThumbUp

We have 450 + or - and about 350 don't go to any of the meetings or any rides either. Why they joined I don't know. I think it was for the 20% discount. And now that the dealer dropped the discount in favor of purchase "points" I think that number will drop drastically. :Shrug:

Use to be a member years ago and dropped out because of all the infighting between member in the chapter here on the east side of Cincinnati. One director thought the chapter's money was his to do with as he liked and some folks didn't think he was the God he thought he was. Cost the chapter a lot of members at the time and several of us just stayed away.
