How many carry spare headlight bulbs?

We traveled out to Arizona and back, taking a couple weeks to get there and back and man, some of the roads along the way were really rough!

Before we made it completely across lower Texas, one day one headlight bulb went out and then the next day, the other went out... early in the day....

Ended up buying a couple H7 bulbs along the way and felt much lighter afterwards. (> $60.00)

I'm getting a couple H7 bulbs (< $11.00) and will stash them on the bike for any future need.

Needing something at the remote edge of earth can cost ya....

I carried spare bulbs in all my Goldwings. They are easy to change (once you have educated hands that know how) and are inexpensive..... Jim

Did ya know it's best not to touch the bulb with bare hands? It leaves a hot spot.

Been riding since 1970 - never needed to change a light bulb. I do have a shield over my headlight to help prevent a rock hit.

Hope this isn't a start of something new.

I don't, because it takes all afternoon to change them out in my Spyder.

Back in 1980 I left the Cold Spring Tavern (east of Santa Barbara CA) in the mountains on my 79 XLCH, and my headlamp burnt out. No spare and it was pitch black. it's real twisty skinny 2 lane rd that finally comes out at a larger rd system with a few lights. I had to wait for a car to pass me up that skinny rd, and I fell in behind him until we got to a lighted section. Total PITA.

I guess the moral to the story is carry an extra lamp if you can replace it easily.

I've been to the Cold Springs Tavern. Used to hold a Mini Rally in Solvang in July every year and on a day we used to ride there for lunch.

I was up there once and a few HD's pulled in, and one of the bikes was the Captain America Bike from the movie Easy Rider. The owner told me it was one of the bikes used in the movie.
