Ok, went for a ride yesterday, came back and decided to mow yard since it is going to get really hot later on. I happened to notice my coolant cover was loose again, I thought I had it on good this time. So since I was in dirty clothes from mowing I decided to drill hole in coolant cover and run a zip tie thru it, good to go for now.

My mistake was I had key and fob in those jeans and I forgot to take it out, I did a load of laundry this morning and I couldn't find my key/fob, so I went downstairs and put washer on pause and found my key/fob in washer, they came out of jean pocket. Started washer up again and came up stairs and took the fob apart and shook some droplets of water out of it, took canned air to it and let the parts sit in the open for 3 hours and put back together. I went out to check to see if fob is still good, it seems to be anyway will know the next time I drive it I guess, I did lock it without the key and walked away and came back and I could turn the ignition switch on, maybe I got lucky, really didn't seemed to be much water in it.

I'm really good about taking things out of my jeans so they don't get washed, I had brain fart I guess.

I would carry the extra FOB with you for a while....But take the battery out of the extra FOB...And see if the washed one keeps on working after a while' Sometimes water has a delayed action... .....

Thanks for all the replies, I think I'm good to go, went for a ride today and everything seemed to work ok, I did take my other fob without the battery as rhino 2 suggested. I know I did blow if out with canned air and basically I could only see a few drops of water and left it in the open to air out for 3 hours. As other people have said it is basically waterproof. I will carry my other fob for awhile just in case and I do have a pin number as another option.
