Dyna Bead,Tyre Balencer;Goldwing 175 x 15" Car front tyre

Attended Stafford bike show at the weekend,
Came across Dyna Bead. After having a Wasp Motorcycles leading link font end built with 175 x 15 inch car tyre and wheel.Could feel was slightly out balance, rather than try and fit ugly balance weights decided to try the beads.
installed fairly straight forward through the valve holder. Instructions supplied
Wound it upto over 85mph on wet greasy road with no tremour or noise.

They work great. That's what I have on my Hannigan trike's front tire, at 41psi.

TrikerAl, are the motorcycle shops starting to use Dyna Beads, or are you the "lone wolf"?
Do the lory (semis as we call them) use them? Here in the states many semi truckers use the Dyna Beads on the big rigs.

Before i attended show at weekend i had'nt heard of Dyna Beads. Before purchasing i looked at web site and looked at riders that were praising the Beads so def no lone wolf, but not sure if the truckers are using em yet.

I started hearing about these maybe 25 or so years ago but never understood how they worked so doubted their veracity. Does the tire pressure you're running make a difference? Guess you have to be on good terms with your tire change guy so they all get switched over. I'll have to look into these.

I don't know if truckers use them much but I've been using them for years and wouldn't be without them. I buy them in bulk and measure them out into 1, 2, and 3 oz. packets. Several of my friends use them also.

You will like the Dyna Beads they do an excellent job, The only "beware" is that the do occasionally get stuck in the Valve core and cause the tire to go flat. Not a big problem just something to be aware of when you check your pressure.
BTW I really like your front end set up.When I first saw your bike last summer I contacted Wasp and they will make and ship to the US but the freight is a killer.I am saving my pennies for a set up for my 1500.

TrikerAl on another note I notice a sticker on your bike right below the windshield vent. The blue red and gold one. Could you tell me what that is?

Re: Dyna Bead,Tyre Balencer;Goldwing 175 x 15" Car front tyre

On Dyna Beads pressure check;
First shoot a small amount of air in the tire with the valve stem at 12 o'clock, this will free the stems if any beads are stuck
Buy the valve stems they sell which will not get clogged, and replace the originals with them.
I believe those are some of the instructions they say to do.
They have a new system which you put the whole bag of Dyna Beads in the tire but you need to buy the correct bags to do this. Go on the web page and they have instructions on how to.

Most big trucks use a glass bead in the tires. They are a much lower cost than dyna beads are. I don't like the glass beads at all, they are nothing but small pieces of glass which through time turn into dust.
Dyna beads work very well in almost all cases.

Good point on the glass beads, as they say, " you get what you pay for".

Ride On product user here. Now that is one awesome front tire.

Thankyou bikerbillone; Main reason for having it built was front end grip and handling when towing teardrop trailer.

Total weight was over 3/4 ton.
Now steering and handlings awesome, when traffic allows can ride on cruise control, lightly holding left gripThumbUp

when the glass turns to dust.....u still have the same weight....so it will still balance your tire....u will only know it's dust is when you change your tire
