Hoping to find a comfortable seat combo for the new ride (2008 Suzuki C50Lehman Tramp). Would liked to have swapped out the ultra-comfy Mustang seat combo on the Honda bike I traded in, but obviously that wouldn't work.

I've checked online and called Lehman, Mustang, Motorcycle Superstore, LeatherUp, and Corbin with no luck. The last option, is to go to a local upholsterer, but I'd rather purchase a seat outright.

Anyone here with some expertise/advice/suggestions?

Thanks in advance...

Two wheeled bikes are turned into trikes using the stock seats. There is no reason a Mustang seat will not fit your bike. No seat seller will list a seat for a trike. Stop asking for one. I have a 05 Honda VTX with Champion Trike Kit with Mustang seats and backrests. Also had Mustang on my Suzuki Volusia/C50.

When your bike was converted, the builder removed the rear wheel, fender, swingarms, moved the shocks. They then added the box, car rear end, car tires. If you need rear brakes you go to an automotive store. If you need front brakes you go to a motorcycle shop. Everything from seats forward is Suzuki. Rear end made up of off the shelf car parts. Box is Lehman kit.

Thanks cavie.

The Mustang website states in bold print that their c50 Boulevard seats will not fit on trikes. I called them to ask why, but received just a generic response that their seats are intended for two-wheelers only.

TrikeTalk member Lee H. Mann, WV Lehman dealer, has been a great help here and provided some welcomed advice. He agrees the Mustang seat will fit on the C50; he has configured several for his customers. Evidently, the configuration disconnect is with the C90 Lehman setup.

I'm gonna jump in based on the advice received and those great pics. Just a matter of which seat. Saddleman also has a nice looking setup at a more reasonable price.

I do beg to differ, if I may. Call Tom Simmons of tscustomseats.com. He, in fact, DOES list a seat specifically for trikes. When I spoke with him he explained why it is for trikes only. I would suggest you call him and learn the why's & wherefores about his seats.

Mine will be made shortly. :)

Russell Cycle Products will make you a Russell Day Long seat to personally fit you and they will make it from your stock seat pan. They're the best of the best and the most popular with Iron Butt riders.

cavie,

You da man. Just ordered the seat and thanks to you, saved $50.

Much appreciated brother...

You can add the removable drivers backrest from Mustang. Don't know the cost. OR you can order one from
www.Grasshopper.com for $95.00 Grasshopper is what is on the Volusia in the pics. You must tell Grasshopper you have Mustang. He also makes one for the stock seat but it has different mounting brackets.

and when your done with that, you can order passenger arm rest from http://www.motorcyclereararmrest.com/
This bolts onto your stock backrest. Best universal after market armrest out there. this is on the VTX trike. Great if you don't need a tour box as I don't. Not a travel'n man.

Would you provide some feedback on your C50's capabilities with a passenger aboard? I'm still gaining experience before the better half rides with me. The trike is powerful enough for me; it goes to 70mph easily, although I haven't attempted to take it faster yet. Seems there is plenty left...

C50 was a two wheeler. Did fine for around town and back roads two up. Never felt comfortable with two up. 70 is at the top of it's range. There's more if you need it but will take time to get there and not for long periods. It needs a 6th gear for Highway speeds. It's pretty wound up at 70. Most riders call it the BUZZ. That's why I went to a trike and up to 1300. I need 60 mph to use 5th gear.

Now I'm very comephy at where ever I go and want to do.
