I started a thread on the mods I have planned for my 2015 TriGlide.Appears I was still on the Freewheeler specific forum when I did it and I don't know how to move it to the Tri Glide section . So I am continuing it here. I attached a pic of the tear down progress.

My plans

Hi Fearless, Winter Mods 2015 TriGlide

Now that winter is here for real in the Northeast , I am going to start disassembly on my Tri Glide. First item is new paint . Ford Ruby Red tricoat to replace the Black Magic. New rear shocks probably Progressive 444 13.5".Raked trees and heavier oil for front forks. Lighted switches, and possibly different bars. I have the Harley 12" batwing apes now. Pretty good but not exactly what I want. Motor has FM stainless 2-1-2 header, Cobra Race pro slip ons .FM billet air cleaner and Power Vision tuner. Looking at cams now. Also considering Target tune especially if I do cams.
Comments and suggestions are welcome. Teardown of body is complete .Going to painter next week.IMG_0527.JPG

Minor problems

I had a couple of problems arise while disassembling the trike. The first is shown in the attached photo. One of the bolts holding the speaker housing to the tour pac had so much loctite on it ,icaused the "nut" in the housing to strip out of the plastic.

Second, when I unbolted the rear body I noticed a puddle of oil under the right rear shock. apparently all the oil leaked out of the shock in the two months it has been sitting on the lift. I guess I need to see the dealer about these items.IMG_0525.JPG

Off to Paint

Brought the parts to the painter today. Stopped at the Harley dealer on the way home. They are ordering a new shock to replace the leaking one. They had the crimp nut in stock so I can repair the speaker enclosure. I also ordered a KlockWerks Benchmark front fender .

Next is rear shocks.I was planning on Progressive 444's the model for the TriGlide. It is 13.5" long .I need to find out if I need to remove my rear lift (DK Custom Products) . Or should I look at the Legends Revo 13" shocks. They get good reviews on HDf in the touring section but I have not seen anything from trike owners.

Since I have an 18" front wheel I am looking at switching to the new Avon trike tire.Does any one have experience with this tire. I used Avon on both of my baggers and was very satisfied with them.

Avon Front "Trike" tire

I bought the new avon trike tire about 1000 miles ago. The ride has not changed, but I have not yet had a white knuckle stop on wet roads with this tire. Time will tell about wear; I do 15K + per year. BTW - the proper tire will have "Trike" on the sidewall. I recommend you check this before you buy.

Front Fender

After disassembly I decided to replace the front fender. I ordered a Klock Werks Benchmark fender. Installed this morning to check fit before paint. Fits great. I cant believe how much heavier this fender is than the stock one. Supposed to act almost like a fork brace. We'll see. Attached a picture.

L A Choppers 10" Twin Peaks

Just finished installing LA Choppers 10" Twin Peaks bars. Went pretty smooth.Wiring was a minor aggravation. I think I am going to like these better than the 12" Harley Mini Apes I had on before. Now on to the rear shocks.

Progressive 444 13.5" shocks

Shocks are on now with stock brackets I was concerned that an extra 1/2" would be too much lift. Waiting for painted parts now. Also considering swapping Cobra Race Pro slip ons for Fuel Moto E series slip ons. I think I lost some low end torque with the Cobras
