Ok! Here it is the new Mustang seat for taller riders! This seat supposedly sets you back 2" from stock!

Yes that's 2" back from stock for those of us who don't like riding on the gas tank!

The mustang number is 79598 list $589 unfortunately they show out of stock but are of the same design of the first freewheeler seat they came out with.

I have not seen one yet and the rider back rest specific to this seat is 79649 list $219

Wow $808 for both Really!!

Anyone have any info on this seat? It's listed on the Mustang web with their other Freewheeler Seats?

Does anyone know if this will set you back farther than a tallboy seat? Thanks.

I tried the tall boy on my Triglide and it was about 2" back for me. The problem I encountered was even with my 2+2 bars, It put my short legs too far from the

shifter and highway pegs. just sayin----------------- I am only 5'6". 28"inseam:Coffee:

Thanks. I have a tall boy on my freewheeler. I am 6'2" with 32 inch inseam. I was wondering if the mustang seat would set me back further yet.

When the seat becomes available, you may want to look at J&P Cycles. They sell Mustang seats 10% off.

I don't need to be further back, but I did look at seat #79598. It is 3" wider for the rider and 1" wider for the passenger so maybe that's why it costs more than the seat that I have.

I highly recommend the Mustang seat for the Freewheeler. I bought seat #79592 which comes with the backrest. The list price is $769.00 so $808.00 isn't that much more for the added comfort.

May wait till Sturgis?

I've had Mustang seats on all my bikes and the 2000 FLHTC is on it's second one(they do harden with age) They are great and you know you have a good seat when you don't think about your seat; learned that years ago! I need the added rear set back already added the Kuryakin extended brake pedal.

The stock seat is ok for 100-150 mile rides but I really don't want to ride it to Sturgis! 1400mi one way. That new Mustang seat looks like it really flows with the fiberglass body and it is longer; just look in that series of picks I posted and the passenger seat came back to the passenger backrest mounts. May have to bend the passenger backrest for comfort!??

JP has a great set up in Sturgis and if I don't have a seat by then Mustang will be there!

I know some say any FLH seat will fit but no one says if they Rub on the fiberglass??? 79556 looks like a good choice but does it rub any where?? With rider backrest it's about $650 on Ebay. Looks just like my Bagger seat!

Well I ordered the seat #79598 and the back rest #79649 from JP it's $727.20 for both shipped with a 2-3week delivery wait.

Supposed to move you back 2"" we'll see! Just couldn't take that stock seat any more even with the Harley backrest

Rear bumper will be hear tomorrow! I suppose 14" apes will be next?

The seat is on; it's bigger looking than I thought. It straightened my legs out when on the highway pegs; not sitting on the tank anymore; but, even for my butt the seat need only be 17" wide. Its a full 19" wide rider seat!

I'll attach some pics Don't know how they came out on top but they're there???

Shows some add on's too! Clearview extra wide 19" windshield; Kuryakin extended brake pedal; DK 2" tank lift with back part; DK 606 air cleaner with re routed breather gas's and stock Rushmore cover; LED turn signals on front smoke lens; right side wind deflector stock Harley and DK wind deflectors may be seen up front of engine. Oh DK 1" extended floor boards are also visible. Don't know how describe each pic separate? Khrome Werks Narrow 2+2 bars are on the way!

Nice job! Thanks for sharing the photos... very helpful to see exactly what the seat and other add on's look like on the freewheeler. I'm looking to add running lamp bars on mine (similar to roadking) but haven't seen anyone do this yet or if they even make lamps that will fit the FW.

It's been done with a stock Road King light bar. It's on here somewhere and it fits!? Do a search

As far as this seat goes I got it from Shane @ SS Custom Cycle Inc shipped for $659.95 saves $67 over JP and shipped same day no 4-6wk wait!

My comment on it being too wide is XXXX It's wide and you sit in it not on it! The sides of the seat keep you in place and I found myself taking sweepers and turns faster with no sliding on the seat! Very positive and comfortable seat! I've never ridden or even seen a Tall Boy seat from HD, but from looks of it on line I see why people say they slide forward on it!

It's a Mustang it works and riding it I didn't think about my seat! They just work! Money well spent!

Thanks for the comments

I just bought the 79598 Super Touring seat and swapped out the Mustang Wide Vintage that I took off my EG Custom an put on the Freewheeler. The Super Touring definitely sets you back 2 inches and is very comfortable. I used the adjustable backrest from the Mustang Wide Vintage and it fit fine.

I put the Mustang Wide Vintage on the EG and removed that tallboy seat I got when I purchased my Freewheeler. Looks like I'm going to put the Tallboy up for sale.

The new seat is very good looking with a ribbed design as you can see from the pics that have been posted. Can't wait to ride it and will take some pics. Very few miles on any bike since my heart surgery last September and all the lousy weather. I'm thinking of taking the Freewheeler out to AZ--decisions, decisions

Did the new seat set you back 2 inches farther then the tall boy or the original seat? Thanks.

I just got a quote from him for 479.

My $659.95 Included matching backrest shipped to my door!. Cigarman says his older backrest fit fine and I can't see why this new one is seat specific other than the style matching pad on it!??? I didn't have a Mustang backrest; but, have the factory harley one I took off to mount this seat.
