The Deed is Done

Just returned from our nearest dealer having sorted out the order paperwork for our Velocity Red Freewheeler. We won't take delivery until September as I need to get strong and fit again, that will take a few months. Excited none-the-less as we have struck a good deal and have ordered the extras we wanted.

They took our Switchback FLD in part exchange and this has paid half the cost of the new trike.

Parts included are:

16"inch windshield, Boom Speaker set + GPS, Detach Pillion sissybar/pad, Rack and rear bumper.

This will get us going for sure and certainly something to look forward to.

Interestingly the European models have the passing lamps as standard with the headlamp covered with a chrome facia. I'm not sure if this is the same in the USA but it looks cool.

Also the number plate sits centrally on the rear boot instead of on one the fenders which I have noticed in reviews.

Congratulations on your Freewheeler

I too have the velocity Red Freewheeler. I did install the lift kit for the rear shocks and the Trike rides really nice. The Trike does ride like a sports car in the turns. I don't have many miles on it as yet therefore I am still taking the curves a bit cautiously (as I would any new bike/trike). The more I ride my trike the more I like it.

I've added the floor board extenders and that too has made the Trike for comfortable.

Hope for a speedy recovery.

September appears to be a good month for riding. Normally the driest month from what I've read; mid sixties to high fifties heading into autumn. Hope it is the best of Septembers when you receive your Free Wheeler. I'd be anixous as a jumping bean during the wait. Keep smiling and enjoy the ride. Grats! ThumbUp

Excited and Thanks

Thanks for all for well wishes.

I'm making great recovery and so will be fit and strong for our Freewheeler in a few months.

Very pleased with the extras we've selected.

There are probably some others things I might add once we've put some miles on the ride.

I ride all year round so probably some heated grips and a comfort lift.

I might recover the seat in a distressed tan leather or get a custom job on a mustang seat.

The problem with recovery is that there is too much time to get ideas!!!!

I would have to say I like the European version with the passing lamps and the central location for the plate. My '15 Freewheeler, just like all US made Freewheelers don't have those nice touches. Well done on a great looking ride!:clapping:

When we were at the dealer I didn't realise the European models utilise the passing lamps as the main lights.

The main central headlamp having a hotrod chrome facia.

I actually asked if these were extra and he explained it's european law for safety reasons;

Warning on-coming traffic of a wider vehicle especially at night, hence the wide light bar. The same applies on the TriGlide.

I like it and it makes perfect sense.
