No power, in reverse

Saturday ran some errands and went on ride with couple friends. No problems with reverse or power. On way home, stopped for a break and when I went to start my trike, nothing. No lights anywhere. Could put in gear and key on them rock it and lights would try and come on, only flickered. Did come on long enough to start with button and headed home. First thought was battery.

When i went to back into my shelter put in reverse light came on and hit the switch. Dimmed the lights and only couple clicks on starter and tried but wouldn't move, once more and died in reverse. Battery tested bad, replaced with new and nothing. No power and can't get out of reverse. New battery tested at 13.85. Checked the 2 solinoids next to battery and first checked same as battery. Stumped as what and where to check next. Looking for suggestions on what next. Need to get it out of rerverse so I can at least push it into my shed. TIA

Check these relays in the box under the seat. See white arrows.

Swap them with ones of the same rating.

The cables would make the reverse not to work properly.

Interesting that after you had nothing, with bike in gear, you rocked it, lights flickered long enough for you to get it started. Bad ground maybe? How many miles are we talking about on this bike and its old battery?

I think the bike is pushable even tho the reverse light is on if you have help. FWIW, when I'm going to use my reverse, after pushing the reverse "mode" button and before pressing the reverse power button I bring the RPMs up to 2 1/2 or 3 grand as the reverse motor pulls a lot of current and drops the battery voltage considerably. If the bike's battery is questionable and you don't ride several miles after using the reverse the bike may not want to start after sitting.

Good luck finding this dilemma.

I don't know why but I can't bring up the link you have are a trike lady. Is their another way I can see them?.

Disconnected the old battery to put in a new one. I could try the negative side again I only for just because trying all options.

The bike has 77xxx miles on it and No idea how old battery was. Took it out and replaced with a new one.

Of the 4 rev relays, the 2 to the right as looking at them have 5 legs each. The 2 to the left have 4 legs each the the furthest has no noticeable power to it with key on it off. The next one has power to all legs key on or off.

Also, the 100amp fuse and 70 amp fuse in fuse panel left of battery, the 100 amp power key on or off, the 70 amp no power key on or off. The solinoids to right of battery first one power key on or off. Can't get to second very good but test light is fun on first post.

Have you checked the reverse fuses to see if any of them went bad?

Below are two different years fuse boxes.

One is 06-08 and the other is 2001-2005.

Check the reverse shift fuse also.

These are the two pics of the fuse box cover.

Thanks trike lady I'll look at them tomorrow. Picture is worth a million words. What I did check in there seemed fine but mite get an assortment of dudes and replace the iffy ones. The 100 amp showed power, should the 70 amp show power as well?

The 70amp speed limiter fuse protects the speed limiter relay for reverse.

If the system got overloaded at some point in time it may have blown.

It should have power.

That's part of my problem. I have no power on lights meter panel of reverse. It is engaged in reverse and so far haven't been able to get power to released it

Something to try and some say it works. Tap on the kill switch and make sure it hasn't been turned to 'Off'.

Pull the reverse shift fuse and see if it unlocks. Manually release the reverse cable assembly. I'm going to find a pic of that part.

By chance is the reverse button stuck in. Use the CRC contact cleaner that is safe on plastic.

The battery may be dead and need to be charged.
