Frankenstien triple tree information

I have a 2015 roadglide speacial , just converted to a trike , very happy except the steering is miles too hard still!

Im thinking that's because these bike's are still very new. That even frankenstien themselves havn't sorted thing as yet!

Teething problems , ive built a few trikes so im sure the trail is too long

the only info on these rushmore frame is that the trail as standard is some 6.8 inches , wow , hey rode well as a bike at that .

It has a negative off set! , that much i know would like to know what the proper off set is?

Also standard it hase a raked tree . Would like to know what that is as well , frankenstien gave me 7 degree trees as fitted and the new frame have a thicker neck thread as well . The more info i get like tree offset and standard racke at the trees , fork length too i suppose i can work out what i have trail now?

New here so appreciate any help

The 9 degree trees are optimal for the Harley tour bikes. Thats what I install on all my Harley FL conversions. I run a 12 degree on my Harley Ultra Hannigan and Im running a 21" front wheel.

do the triple trees increase or decrease rake or the trail? In other words is the front wheel moved closer to the engine or farther away.

hey mate thanks so tell me , have you done any of the newer rushmore baggers? and did they have the 9 degree raked triple trees .

apparently the starting point for the rushmore 2015 fltrxs is 6 . 8 of trail !!! any idea what it'd be with 9 degree ?

I'm thinking the 5 are way too small. will be striping the front soon to see what i have got as far as trail goes ?

which has the least trail the 12degree with a 21 inch wheel or standard with the 9 degree , papa ?

also the international model here has a 19 inch front wheel gives a diameter of 24and a 1/2 inches , on the ones you've done do they have a smaller wheel?

asking a lot of questions before i buy , as I've already bought a 7 degree trees so I'm being a little able so as to get it close , would you strive for , say 1/2 to 1 inch of trail ?

thanks guys

pat tried to put a pic up but won't let me !

"I've already bought a 7 degree trees so I'm being a little able so as to get it close , would you strive for , say 1/2 to 1 inch of trail".

My understanding is what Frankenstein sells with their kits reduces the trail to between 3 and 4 inches. I found that to be ideal on mine. Good luck.

thanks mate , well I've put 7 degrees on mine , it's a road glide special . so steering does start off different , to yours , what is yours by the way . doner bike?

every-time i crunch the figures, i keep getting 12 degree which gives me around 2 inches of trail??? on paper that should be good! well I'm thinking that way! papa Zook is being very helpful as well !its too bloody hard now but

thanks for your input

Can't find correct triple T to fit HD Ultra

I have a 1990 Ultra Classic Electra Glide with a Champion conversion & the stock 16" front wheel. I am looking for a Triple T but every time I find one they don't fit my trike. One exception was a TT from Bagger Boys. Again it didn't list my yr. & model HD but when talking to a tech. he thought it would. I want to be positive before I shell out the $$ and order one. Once because of the small electric box on the left side of the frame up front, I was told their Triple T would not work on my trike. Question: what is the correct rake I should be looking for.....4.5* or 6* or 9* or ?? It's getting hectic running into dead ends but I've got great faith in Trike Talk.

Thanks in advance for all the info, leads, etc.

God bless,

PR - Wes

Contact Papa Zook he owns this forum and a trike business and he can help you get what you need.

4.5 for short wheelbase trikes 6 for long wheelbase trikes.

Cut -N- Shoot Customs is his business.

No problem! My Softail Slim comes stock with around 5.8" of trail. I installed 4% rake trees which brought the trail to between 3 and 4 ". I hope this helps.

Check out the Frankenstein Trike web page. They supposedly sell tress for all Harleys and have great customer service. I would recommend calling them to make sure.

well mine is too hard to steer and they recommended the 7 degree t trees although the rush mores are still new it's more the trail, and the raked trees are a path to getting the right trail!

i.m nearly thinking 12 degrees on mine , but not conferdent and can't seem to get any more feed back.

different bikes have different starting points to figure out what trees

yeah but mine is a rushmore 2016 model so again very different the starting point in trail is 6.8 inches.

but thanks for your input , how does yours steer ?

pat

The part number I gave was for Prairie rider's trike. Your's will have a different part number.

It steered very well and very responsive. This was on a trike I converted years ago and had sold.

Your's requires:
Part Number: A-EZS-Q00-004

Have a great day.
