Paradox: Fertilize to make grass grow, then have to mow like crazy!

[h=4]But, the pre-emergent stuff in the fertilizer helps keep down the dandelions, makes the grass thicker growing, etc.

Neighbors to the west of us don't do anything to keep the weeds down and the seeds keep blowing into our yard.

One neighbor has Vitagreen only spray his front yard to make it look good, his backyard next to ours is a sea of yellow blooms. Hope all the seedpods blow into his pool!!! Haha

I know, don't get too @nal about dandelions. But we're trying to get our yard back in shape since we'll probably try to sell in a coupla years. And we live in a subdivision where the general consensus is to keep your yard looking good.

At least now I'm more flexible time wise about when I can mow!

No $$$ spent at our place on fertilizer or weed killer. Farm fields full of all sorts of weeds all around us. Big waste of money to try to beat it.

Up in the housekeepers place , moss rules. It's like walking on memory foam.

No mowing required :clapping:

Must have a boat load of conifer trees, Nothing but moss grows around them...Our woods are reverting back to Conifer...The original members bought the camp from a lumber company around 1900 , Most of the property was clear cut, And back then there wasn't many deer, So the hard wood was able to grow... Since the Fifty's the hard wood is slowly dyeing out and the Conifer is taking over. i.e.; Going back to its natural state..

If you don't know who has the Red Neck Yard in your neighborhood.....It's probably you!

The neighbor on one side of me studied horticulture. Must have a hundred different kinds of plants and landscape. She befriended the neighbor on the other side of me and she started it, too.

I'm tempted to put a sign in my yard that says "NO, We're NOT the ADDAMS family !"

Actualy she has 5 huge poplar trees that the prev owner planted many yrs ago to replace a cottonwood. So I was told by a old neighbor. AKA, Toothpick trees , with sticky buds . :gah:

Well the way I do it is easy. One night when they are gone you get the weed be gone out and you help him with his problem and spray his yard for him or round up the thing.:clapping::clapping:
