78 year old Retired Marine, riding since age 16. Current ride is a 2012 Harley Tri Glide. Enjoyed 2 wheels, but I outgrew them, so now The Trike is my ride.

Ride 2 up with my wife of 58 years.

Like my ride except for the heat problem and am interested in how others cope with it.

Here in Wilmington, NC (Carolina Beach) you have to ride about 20 miles to reach an open road, so heat is a real problem.

Had a Honda VT1100C with a MotorTrike Conversion and put 30,000 on it with absolutely no heat problems.

We ride year round in clear weather and prefer the back country roads.

Semper Fi to all Marines

Welcome Arthur form North Ga. :wave4:

One way to control the heat is using fans. Works good in stop and go traffic.

Welcome to the Gang from Western Colorado

All the things mentioned above work well with the heat, couple that with a set of floorboard relocators from DK Customs (a sponsor here) and you should really see some improvement. The relocators move the floorboards out about an inch and allow air to flow between your feet and the motor.

Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania there is a great group of people here willing to help with problems especially heat management on the monsters. Best advice I could offer install Love jugs Mighty Mites. As others have said extend floor boards, I raised fuel tank installed air deflectors on front fuel tank mounts. Also removed left side mid frame air deflector so air has a place to go. All the things alone (except the Love Jugs) do a little it is the sum of all that make it nice. Thank you for your service to our great Nation and please ride safe.:victory: Fred

P.S. DK Customs have done volumes of work on Heat management Take a look it their site or PM Kevin from the forum he would help I'm sure he has certainly helped me. Fred

Thanks for your service Art and welcome to the forums from Florida.

Trike Heat Relief

Tried LeNale Fan and not sure if it made any real difference and then the switch went bad. Connectors buried in goo used as waterproofing.

Recently installed Love Jugs, plug and play to accessory plug.

'

The horn mount bolt refused removal with any and all removal methods, so I removed the mount from the heads and drilled out the bolt.

Installation would have been easy if the bolt could have been removed by suggested method.

TOO MUCH LOC TITE. Will have to wait until stuck in traffic on a hot day to see if the Jugs keep it cool enough to preclude the cut out/one cylinder mode.

Semper Fi To All.
