Thinking it is time

Hi all,

I have a 2015 Road Glide Special I bought new. I had a 2005 Ultra Glide that I bought new but crashed it near Gallup New Mexico in June 2014. My rear tire exploded and came of the rim. Broke some ribs and my left collarbone. Some serious road rash. I started thinking about trikes after that. Harley would not deal on their Tri-Glide and frankly I wanted a new style i.e., frame mounted fairing. So I stayed with two wheels. I'll be 62 soon and my knees have both been scoped'. The weight of the Road Glide is starting to concern me some too. My local indie mechanic is an authorized Champion dealer. He recommends the solid axle. My wife may ride with me more than she does now once I trike it. I have been riding since I was 14 and have owned 8 motorcycles. I am very aware of the difference in steering will go easy at first to get the hang of it. I live in Southern Maryland so our riding season from March to November. Three wheels may extend that some if it is not too cold.

Now all I have to do is pull the trigger.

Welcome from Pennsylvania

Pull the trigger you will not look back and wonder why you waited this long. we love ours get us off a few pictures set your camera back to VGA so you can up load them. ride safe Fred

I had an 07 that I made into a Road Glide then added a Champion conversion. Put 60k on her from 09 to 13 and loved it. I have a 13 TRI that I am converting to a Road Glide fairing now.

Welcome from New Mexico. Went to trike in 2014, it was a great move for me. Wife had slowed down her riding with me due to both knees. She had her knees replaced and I replaced the ultra classic with the triglide. Jim

I got very sick last season while at the Tail of the Dragon and had to be helicoptered out of there... ( long story)The Doctor said no more motorcycles for you, well I went and triked my faithful Honda 2010 Goldwing... NOW THAT I'M ON THREE WHEELS NOW I HAVE ADMIT, WHY DID I WAIT SOOOOO LONG? Being on the trike is more fun then then two wheels ever were..........I'll never go back to two wheels again! Love it!

The new Road Glide fairing is awesome. After 10 year with a bat wing I love how much "sportier" this bike is with the frame mounted fairing.
