They have 2 plans one 139.00/year all the regular coverage plus Motorcycle towing (up to 100 miles) Premium RV plan is I think 179.00/yr, think the only difference is it include motorcycle towing for 200 miles..

Does anyone have any experience with AAA and motorcycles policy?

Thanks

Re: AAA RVcoverage(includes motorcycles)

I had a breakdown on I-75 in KY a few years back with my SUV while pulling my trike on a trailer. Called AAA, told them what I was driving and they sent a flatbed. Loaded the SUV on the flatbed and hooked the trailer and trike to the back and drove us 20+ miles to the Chevrolet dealer. I had the RV coverage at the time.

Re: AAA RVcoverage(includes motorcycles)

AAA plus RV , 12 months for $82.00 only difference is 100 miles towing and breakdown response limit 4 times a year. maps and travel coverage included. member since 1960, 50 years satisfied with their service.

Re: AAA RVcoverage(includes motorcycles)

I'd call and ask my agent if it covers your motorcycle. Does not in Pennsylvania. Better if you know before needed. Please post the response.

Thanks-asked that question years ago. The answer was yes. Covers towing to the nearest dealer that sells my brand of bike or place of my choice-whichever is closest.

Are you saying State Farm ins. does not cover motorcyle in Penn or no ins. does?

My wife worked for a State Farm agent for 20yrs in Indiana!
I bought my first scoot in 1967-Had been w/American States Ins at the time.
They would not insure a motorcycle.
Talked around-went to my nearest State Farm agent and been with them ever since.
I do however, find it very strange they would cover my trike along w/my cage in Indiana but, do not cover bikes in Penn:Shrug:
Have you ever asked why no coverage is avail. there?

I was with AAA for several years but decided to move on when they wouldn't come pull my car out of a ditch this past winter - it was 4:00 PM and they said it was getting too late. What happened to 24 hour service? Anyway, I checked around and ended up going with AMA (American Motorcyclist Assoc.) which covers all of my vehicles, as well as my trike, for $39.95 per year. If interested go to americanmotorcyclist.com.

I have the same coverage, but this is what just happened to us.
On our return trip back from the Smokey Mountains in NC.
I had reduced my tool pac down to a cell phone and a Triple A card.
On our return trip. 3 ft back from the trailer's tongue. The crappy weld I did. Broke while en-route on the highway. I managed to get to the shoulder. I called Triple A and they informed me that even though the trailer is attached to the trike. I would have to pay for the trailer to be transported ( by the mile). The trike they would cover. But not the trailer. Which is 200 lbs and pulled by the trike. I have the most expensive coverage with them and to find out that the trike's trailer is not covered. I'm reducing my membership and I'm bringing the attention of this to all of you out there that pull a trailer with your scoot or trike. By the Grace of God. A pick-up truck pulled over to assist us and it turned out to be my neighbor! With ratcheting tie-downs, bungy cords, two lug wrenches (as a splint) and good old duct tape. We managed to remedy a fix that allowed us to pull our trailer home safely. Don't take for granted that Triple A covers what you pull with your trike or bike. They don't and they will be written about their crappy policy!

AAA told me before hand that they would not cover my trailer, only the bike. Good Sam told me the same thing so be sure and ask if you pull a trailer with your bike before you spend your money.

RE: State Farm

:Flag:

I have been with State Farm for over 25 years. (Orlando,Florida)
They insured both a car, my van and my Harley, I had at the time.
I have a perfect driving record and no claims---BUT---
they WOULD NOT write a policy for my VW trike.

They referred me to some small insurance company that no one had ever heard of.
Even though I was 60 at the time and had a perfect driving record, this
no-name company wanted $1208 per year!!!

Someone referred me to Grundy Insurance Company, who insures a lot of the collector cars, show cars and high end imports.
They said the VW trike was no problem and they quoted me $139 per year.

It pays to look around.

Ride safe & watch out for the idiots!
