Lookin to Buy BOSS HOSS Trike

Looking For BOSS HOSS Trike 32 Ford or Willys body. Lower NY area. Also would like some pros and cons from owners. Thanks Carl. Always liked them. Have two Harley trikes 09TG and a 10 XXX plus 06RKC with 07TLE. The Hoss would be a bucket list wish. Not looking to sell what I have. Just add the Hoss The auto woud be nice. Plus the 365+HP. :

I rode the boss hoss (32 Ford rear )up at Ameriade 2 years ago. was the small 350 chevy(if you want to call that small <LOL>)IT was a blast. A lot of punch off the line. Riding 2up it feels more like a dragster than a motorcycle. almost lost my Honey off the back. I will post pictures as soon as i get back on line.

I'm still riding a two wheeler, but looking to get into a trike in a few years.
I'm considering the Boss Hoss, Honda Valk, and Triumph Rocket (my current two wheeler).
I've seen some lightly used, low milage BHs coupes go for under $25k, and that makes them very attractive. Generally they will be more like $35+, and that is over my price range.

There was a real nice red coupe that was repeatedly listed on ebay with dropping price down to $31,500. About 2 years old and low milage.
I wanted it, but not ready.

They seem to have more maintance issues than the Valk or Rockets, but Chevy dealers can work on them.
There is a very good forum for the BH's, although mostly for the two wheel verison, but engine same.
Rocket Trikes are rarer than the BH, and I don't want to cannabalize my Rocket as that is for my grandson. They go for just under $25k, and I actually like the BH better.
I'm in love with the Rewaco Rocket trike, made in Germany, and $47k(US) plus shipping. Not going to happen.

If you're not willing to travel much out of your home area, be prepared for $35k+, but if that doesn't turn you off. . . too much fun.

The Somerset PA link per above is just down the road from me, and they've have a top notch reputaion, for many years.
From my research, no 'bad' BH dealers, but Somerset turns them over pretty quick.

I read yea. Missed out on one up in Schroon Lake NY was around 21k 2003 with 3,500 miles. Was on Ebay last August of 2010. Was out bid then got second bid on it was at the wrong time was not meant to be. Had know way to get up and look at it or get it home. When I bid on it was set to go. But two weeks later was not able to get a ride up there was not going up there with 20k alone. The one that you saw for 31,500 was in Ohio. That one looked mint in the pictures. Sounded like a well kept one. Stamford Boss Hoss is close to me around 1hour away she has 3 new ones around 50+K. Debbie the owner is keeping a eye out for a low mileage used one for around Mid thirties. There is one in Texas for 26k. But the dealer or salesmen was not to helpful. i asked for more pictures never heard from him. There shipping method sounded odd ball told me I needed a loading dock or flatbed truck. To have it off loaded. There is another private sale one in Texas for 19K has been sitting since 2006. Owner says it has to be cleaned up idles high at 2000rpm I'll pass on that one. To far away to play games. The one in Schroon Lake NY was the deal. That trike was bought and serviced by Stamford Boss Hoss. I'll find one.

I met a guy in charleston WV that had several boss hoss trikes I can get his number if you want, not sure if any was for sale but I do know he is a wheeler dealer.

I recently bought a new 2011 '57 Chevy Boss Hoss trike. It is bold and loud, but I can not wipe the smile off my face when I ride. Starting up is just about an unreal sound until you get it off idle. I also have the upgraded passenger and rider seat, air suspension and the 16"X18" factory wind shield. I plan to add cruise control or at least a throttle lock next and will have the "truck liner" for the decks painted on when the non-skid loosens. I really wanted the top fairing and sound system, but at $1,800 plus painting, it was out of my budget at this time.

I have the factory cam which takes it to 385 hp. Forget gas mileage and cool riding, the engine creates high temps to the legs. I got highway pegs which helped reduce the heat to my legs tremendously. You do not want to do a lot of stop and go with this heat monster.

Only one minor issue with the fuel pump on startup, but the factory helped resolve completely.

I got mine from the Daytona dealer who gave me a great deal.

I have never ridden a BH. I live about 35 miles from Luckenbach and go there often...Once in a while a gentleman with a two wheel BH shows up. When he starts it to leave, all of us gather to hear that sound...WOW!

George,if my wife and I are able to attend your Hill Country gathering in the Fall, you're welcome to take our Boss Hoss trike for a ride. Only downside to doing so,you most likely will have to have one of your own. They are addictive as heck!

Thanks for your kind offer. I don't think we will have any gathering this fall, maybe in the Spring. No plans being made to date. Nice BH!
