ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Three sponsor/vendors will be set up for the weekend on the grounds of the Wheels Through Time Museum:
- Lehman Trikes will have a representative there with information and some trikes.
- WingBling/Hawg Bling will be set up with a trailer full of bling for your ride
- Justin Carriage Works will be displaying a beautiful example of their hand-built trike-drawn hearses (I’m pulling for a test ride!). They also will have information on all of the custom carriages they build and sell.
You are welcome to visit the museum, itself, at any time during your weekend. However, our rally group will be having an exclusive, private opening at a discounted admission rate on Saturday evening if you prefer to wait for that.
WEEKEND ACTIVITIES:
Thursday, June 23---arrive and check into motels or campgrounds
- Bazooka and Nana can be found at the Four Seasons Inn. Expect a lot of meet and greet going on in the parking lot, the meeting room there and next door at the Ramada through the afternoon and evening. There is also a lovely green area behind the motel beside the creek where we are welcome to gather.
- Spiritdream will have your name tags ready for you at the Four Seasons Inn
- Please park efficiently, as several members must trailer in and need space for parking cages and trailers too.
- Meal options: We’re all on our own! Several great eating spots are nearby including Legends Bar (within walking distance), J Arthurs, and others. See this link for more suggestions: Maggie Valley Restaurants and Dining
Friday, June 24---Day of riding and exploring
- There will be a list of suggested activities posted at both motels for an easy day trip to join a group or go-on-your-own
- There will be suggested options and maps for rides to go-on-your-own or join one of the organized, led group rides skuuter is putting together. These will include a scheduled stop at one of skuut’s favorite feeding troughs! Note that specific time and route will be posted each day at both hotels, or contact skuuter if you have a question. The organized group rides will be planned and led in a manner to accommodate even newbies to trike riding and twisty roads.
- Note to those who are new to the area..... There is not a bad ride in the area so long as you stay on paved roads. Expect lots of twisties and spectacular scenery. An entrance to the famous Blue Ridge Parkway is just a couple of miles out of town .
- Meal options: Again, we’re on our own! Pick another great option from the list in the link above and invite a table full of new friends to ride down for a bite and some refreshment!
- In the evening -- after the riding is over for the day -- Boscoporp (aka Stan) is inviting everyone to come by the Four Seasons Inn where he will be hosting a Margarita Party with his Margarita maker and a big pile of ice in his room!
Saturday, June25---Shortened day of riding and exploring
- Again the suggested activity destinations and riding routes or group rides are available and will be posted at both motels.
- 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. make your way to the beautiful grounds of the Wheels Through Time Museum in the center of town where our caterer will be setting up and preparing to serve.
