Indecision on buying trike

Buying a trike but having trouble with high prices . They seem crazy at 40 k. Figured buying newer was better for design and reliability. Gen 6 GW seem to have more room and comfort plus the dct .
Any comments or regrets buying a trike . Ride a Indian Roadmaster but at 71 is getting hard at slow speeds. Thinking I just need to suck it up and ride.

Any opinion on conversion brands looking at CSC and Roadsmith. Looking for quality , ride, and handing, love the twisties.

I bit the bullet and shelled out in 21 for a Snake Venom TriGlide . This week I should turn 30!k on it! Of course it is modified / accessorized to make me happy but it’s all money well spent . I’ve done a couple thousand mile days on it with no issues .
Go and test ride a few!

Looks like you and I are the same age - 71. I just wanted the stability - so, I triked my 2021 Ultra. In my opinion, this was indeed my best decision.

I opted for the CSC conversion, really like it and have no regrets. If you go that way, please consider the bumper, floorboards, reverse gear and the front rake.

Every time we get on the trike, there are tons of smiles.

Good luck to you.

I’ve never driven an Indian but they make awesome looking trikes. That may be your lowest price to have yours converted. I tried the gen 6 wings and didn’t find the seat to be as comfortable as the 2017 I bought. The DCT does seem like a good feature though.

Thanks, the Indian is close to the best bike I have ever road. They have one issue and that's heat. I believe a trike would just produce more so keeping the Indian as is and enjoy it on 2 wheels. We have road 30 k on it and enjoyed every mile. The GW seems to be the best bike for conversion but not so sure about Roadsmith conversation vs CSC.

All the trikes we have had have been CSC.
CSC also has 5 year warranty on their trike kits.
We personally like them better, so we chose to stay with them.
Try each one out if you can and see which you like better.
Good luck and enjoy!

I'm about your age also. I decided to trike because it was getting harder for slow speed handling with a passenger. Also little things like where to park were being a pain. Since I already had a good GoldWing, I decided to have it converted to a reverse trike. Check out Endeavortrikes.com. After doing a bunch of research I decided a Reverse Trike was the way to go. He can do the conversion on most any brand of motorcycle. His website has a lot of information.

Check out a Indian Pursuit or Challenger both water cooled, I have a 2021 roadmaster with a CSC kit on it , it gets hot sitting in stopped traffic at 90 plus degrees. Next year I want to buy a new Pursuit with a Motor Trike kit. My CSC kit has had its troubles, this weekend going to pull the body see what the loud clucking is???? I have done 2 rear wheel bearings, a new rear shock, and replaced the differential, CSC warrantied the shock. Motor Trike I have met the owner a few times at Daytona great guy, every year there set up at bike week, really nice paint, great workmanship. Oh I had to repaint my CSC also, the dealer paid me to repaint it, or I would not buy it. Check cycle trader there's a few Pursuits & challengers on there for sale

I removed the body today on my CSC trike to check the clunking, What I found is the rear shock is leaking oil again & its a lot of oil everywhere so I need a new shock, Both sway bar links are Junk, one of the nuts holding on the sway bar links was stripped 1/2" nut threads completely gone. Both mufflers were the pipes are welded are broken off , just shit welds those I ground down & welded, then shimmed so there wont be stress on them.

So I will call CSC Monday to see if this is warrantied . I really dent care if they warrantee this or not, its just garbage, IM sure most CSC trike owners have bad leaking shocks & don't know it, this is the third bad shock I have had, 1 on my Goldwing that I replaced with a QA1 from summit racing, & 2 on my Indian this will be the third on the Indian, the sway bar links I replaced on my Goldwing also.

I think I will buy 4 hiem joints GOOD quality & make my own sway bar links. No More CSC For Me . All CSC Trike owners grab your tour pack & shake the trike side to side see if you get loud Clunking ? If so pull the body off check for leaking shock, bad sway bar links, bad wheel bearings. grease leaking out of the differential, & cracked mufflers ? I will post pictures when I get a chance.
