Raked triple tree

I'm new to Trike Talk. I have a couple of questions. I am having a Motor Trike kit installed on my 2008 HD XL1200N Nightster and would like to know about raking the triple tree. The tech at Motor Trike told me I do not need to rake the tree due to sportsters a much lighter than the big twins. I am hearing that I should rake it. My questions are, do I need to install raked trees and if so how much rake? Will I have to get longer fork tubes also? If so how much longer? Any help and input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Jesse

Who is doing the install? Motor Trike, a dealer or you? You definately want the rake kit and it will be easier and cheaper to do it when the bike is on the lift and apart. Motor Trike has a good one that they sell and they will know what degree rake you'll need for your year and model Sportster. They should also have fork extensions as well.
