My wife and I just made the transformation from two wheels to three. We looked converting my 2012 Victory Cross Country, but decided to go with the Can-Am instead. We went to the dealer to see about the rebates on the 2013 and after some late night research and saw all of the improvements on the 2014 we decided we could forgo a few bells and whistles and get the 2014 at the same price as the 2013 and after riding both units we are so glad for our decision. The 2014 is so much quieter and smoother and the torque is amazing. We can pull down to 35 mph in 6th gear and just roll on the throttle and we are back to cruising speed. The victory would have required two or three down shifts to do that.We almost always ride two up so the torque was a big factor especially after we complete the trailer we are building. Our first tank of gas we averaged 36 mpg some city and some back roads at 60-65mph. The dealer told us that it would be better than the 2013 and we are glad we made that decision. After riding two wheelers for almost 50 years it was tough decision to get a trike ,but the more we ride the happier we are with our choice.

Good post, thanks for your 'so far' experience with the 2014 CanAm Spyder, a good read. 36 mpg, a far better efficiency than in the past. Very seldom do I get 36 on my 2005 Wing/RS conversion 2 up. Of course I get to fuel up with 'regular', easier oil/filter change, etc.....Thanks again and keep up informed. You know the regular stuff, dealer visit costs for maintenance, or if you DIY, how easy/difficult it might be.

Good decision on the 2014. Had a 2012 RT and was constantly shifting due to the low torque. Thank goodness for that paddle shifter. Averaged 32 MPG keeping it in lower rpm range as much as possible. The 3 cylinder 6 speed 2014 model is obviously a big improvement over the previous years. Would have considered the 2014 model myself, but the local dealer wouldn't perform the factory warranty repair work on the 2012 Spyder, and BRP was unwilling to rectify the situation. Enjoy all the safety features of your machine.

I will let you know on the maint. of the RT .I purchased a Gas and Go so all services and parts are covered for the first three years. The RT is then covered for another three years for repairs. The new three cylinder has hydraulic lifters so no valve adjustments.I understand that was expensive do have done. We are installing the hitch and wiring so we can pull the trailer and haul our golf clubs. We are in the first stages of planning our big summer ridecation. We will be riding from Fl. to Tn. and then to Michigan's U.P..Crossing over into Canada and across to Niagra Falls .then down through Va. and NC. before we head for home .The trailer will come in handy for hauling our our camping gear. That should be enough feedback to tell how much we like the RT.

</div>Sounds very exciting, with that super warranty, no worries, no concerns. Did you get the Spyder trailer as well? A great trip, looking forward, dreams come true. We like to trip up to Sevierville TN for a week or so and ride those fine roads. Also a trike ride in Sparta NC in June if you can work it in, that should be interesting. Happy miles.

You made the right decision with the 2014. From what I have read so far BRP made a big step forward in the Spyder's drive train. I hope your new ride proves to be your best one yet.
I had a 2012 RT A/C SE5. I paid $19,300 for it new in Oct. 2012. BRP did a lot of things wrong in the past but one thing they did right was Spyder Fest. We went to the one in Maggie Valley last summer and it was worth the trip.
One other thing. I installed Baker Built Air Wings on the one we had. It made a huge difference in air flow around the passenger and rider.

Yes BRP really got it right this year with the RT it is a totally different trike!
We love ours and have taken 2 short trips so far and it was great!

Well so far we have a little over a 1,000 miles on our RT and it is proving to be a very nice ride. We have added some extras,RonsBajaBar ,SpyderPops skid plate and belt guard. Some LED lighting and flag brackets. Waiting on the hitch and wiring and the Weboards floor boards. We are finishing the trailer so we can do some short trips to make sure we are ready for our long summer adventure. Thinking about the belt tensioner after a high speed blast down the interstate last weekend. The belt vibration at low 80's was annoying ,not uncomfortable, just annoying. The sway bar really made a huge difference in the confidence level ,now able to just flick the RT in lane changes and passing on 2 lane highways.
