Stallion Parts & Maintenance Reference

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

Is there a separate air bag on each side? If so, did they replace both of them then to solve the issue? Thanks.

I just changed the oil again!

I just passed 10k and changed the oil again. No other problems to write about. Everything seems to be working just fine. Bella is now the owner of my stallion, and I ride my Ducati when she wants to ride the Stallion. It seems to be working, I got a nice set of riding leathes out of it, I will post when I get a pic. Both are great bikes, the area we ride is even better!

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

Oh, Eddy, what fun you two must be having, with the Stallion and the Ducati. And what a spectacle, too!

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

Thanks, I found it..
Is the vin number stamped into the frame or engine anywhere?

I Know they put the vin number for cars in three locations.

Bill.

Stallion Oil Change INfo

I was asked where I had posted the information on the Stallion Oil change. Here it is in this thread. Enjoy. I had a tough time finding it, but I think it was worth it.

BTW, I have since changed to use the plastic roll up ramps as opposed to the bricks and the plywood as shown in the picture. You can get them at Wallmart for about $30-40.00.

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

not sure if this is the right location for this topic...but I figured what the heck I'd put the information out anyway......for information regarding the paint codes etc you can go to uspaint.com they have all the colors used by TMS, along with the price list and other ingredients needed to match your stallion. (regarding the blue use nova blue NOT stallion blue, AJ5057 perfect match. Hope this helps

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference-Trunk latch

Is anyone having trouble with the trunk latch? We slam and slam and double check to make sure it's shut and it still pops open under way. Today is the first time my husband lost something out the back but he circled back and retrieved our cover.

Any suggestions??

Thanks

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference-Trunk latch

stalliongirl. The latch is a bit tricky. We had the same problem. The dealer we purchased from, tried the bending of the loop fastened to the body to get it better aligned with the latch. This was only somewhat successful. I finally at home took the loop off and shimed it up to meet the latch better. You have to be careful because the blind nuts are on a plate that you will have to try and get your arm up to in front of the radiator to hold if they drop. If you do one at a time you may not drop it like I did. I shimed with a washer on each side and now it works like it should. Easy to open and closes tight without slamming.

Mine was tough, and I have talked to a lot of owners who tell horror stories of things that they lost like their jacket and gloves because they thought the trunk was closed and they did not double check it. Now with that said, I always double check it out of habit, but mine seemed to wear in. The seal is tight and the gasket is not very soft, so for me at least it had to wear in for about a year. The dealer told me they try not to adjust them too much because you may impact the ability of the gasket to keep the water out at high speeds.

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

Also have to mention that we have a fiberglass Stallion. Because of the layup process each is slightly different. The new plastic bodies should not have that problem, because they all come off the same mold.

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

Re: Parts & Maintenance Reference

Welcome aboard Ralph. If you read all the threads about Stallions you will find that most owners have only had minor problems. There have been only a couple of people saying that they have a bad Stallion. What is the last 3 numbers of your Vin? You might have an early one. TBMS is very good standing by their Stallion.
