Off to Tucson....Again!

It really wakes you up in morning when you sit on a cactus instead of your trike by mistake. Aaaaand another Giants fan too embarrassed to show their face.

For those who wonder what my ‘stach looks like without the rubber bands. And finally, why yes, I did carry my rollerblades all the way out here so I can blade in the desert heat.

I leave for NY early tomorrow morning. Planning a more northerly route. Angling up toward Albuquerque and with apologies to Bugs Bunny, making a right. Maybe OK City to St Louie to Pittsburgh to NYC.

So here’s another roundup of pics. I think a Lance Armstrong wannabe ran over the poor lizard. When blading, there’s nothing like a good curvy path (that’s what she said). Darn those kryptonite bullets. That little bad hombre got the drop on me. Shots of the full moon as it rose over the Santa Catalina mountains.

If you ride I-64 through Kentucky, let me know.

You could stop and we could have a bite. We live in Ashland, which is at the extreme eastern end of Kentucky, just before I 64 enters West Virginia.

Contact Zook and he can give you my phone number if you’d like. That way we can talk/text direct.

Hey, last June I rode down to Charleston and Barboursville, WV for work. Not all that far from you. Unless weather detours me, probably aiming for I-70. But you never know. Take a look in my profile. There is an email contact in there. Its my spam email so make a good subject note.

Subject is ‘Ashland meet up’

Finally found email today on my junk folder after resent. In Van Buren, AR for night. Heavy rain on way. Thinking of Nashville and north tomorrow. Did manage Cadillac Ranch (1 1/2 miles east of I-40 exit 60 on south side) and the lesser known VW Ranch (what I call it anyways, at exit 96 on south side). And I’ll sneak in some shots from Rt 66 in NM to break the ranches up.

Could have sworn Cadillac Ranch was all in only primer 25 years ago last time I stopped by. At least there was a path to walk out to it this time. I got 1/2 way up in my boots last time.

Yep, hit a solid hour of heavy rain this morning, then mostly dodging it all day. Altered route to I-40 to I-81 north in morning. Stopped in Knoxville for night. If weather behaves, I have less than 800 miles to go. Might make the push so I get through NYC late after rush hour.:qpnmt:

Take your time. We are to get that mess on Friday, then all’s ok

Told my daughter about you. She said, "You mean there's a clown that rides a trike across the country??" And the look from her was...:xzqxz:

I didn't completely explain. I just let the childlike wonderment be.

Left Knoxville in pouring rain. 300 miles later it stopped. I was so soaked, the goldfish in my boots were begging for a sump pump. Took my gloves off and aimed my sleeve down. Water poured out. Yes, I had rain gear on. Just didn’t help after a couple hours. In PA, I saw what was ahead and decided to wait for morning to finish. In Carlyle, PA for night. Big car show here this weekend. Lucky to get room with points. Since I was moving a little slower in rain and had wind behind me, got great gas mileage (36 mpg hwy). Also, went 197 miles straight with no stops (in heaviest rain).

Left PA at 4:30am. A couple hours behind last wave of rain. Right through NYC. Home by 8:30am. Left signal bulb needed to be replaced 3 miles from home. Total of 5735 miles. 3 1/2 days going and 4 1/2 days back. I may need a shave, my white whiskers are showing.

More pics and video to follow once I get them out of good camera.

Diannes flight was supposed to get into JFK at 11pm tonight....However, the dippy flight is delayed to Dallas, so they rescheduled her for a later flight into Newark NJ at 12:50am. Go ahead and guess the dipstick who will be driving there later.

Oh, and apparently my mother tripped over something last night and may have cracked something in her hip (active and 80 yrs old). They expect a full recovery. Can’t even blame toys or the kids who left days ago. Blames my father, but just on general principles.

Don’t tell her what happened to Jimmy today !
