i have a gold wing 1500 with a motor trike older classic conversion

it has no tag on rear end , but pinion is gone

it is a ford 7.5 rear end much like newer straight axle conversion

i need to replace some parts , but don't know gear ratio ,

308
343....

anybody know whats in theres sure even the 1800 are same ratio ?

I know some are 3.08 but don't know if they all are. You best bet is to call MotorTrike and ask them. You'll need the kit number that is stamped on the top of the input shaft housing. MotorTrike keeps records based on that number. Just in case you don't have their # it is (800) 908-7453.

Good luck with the fix.

Good advice Gold Rush!! However, if you look closely at those numbers, one of them will be followed by an "X"; this is the gear ratio - EX - 2.73X, 3.08X, etc... This will also save you from having to make a call when the information you need is directly on your bike!

Thanks!!! I didn't know that... Never looked myself for those numbers since my conversion is an IRS and the number is in a totally different place.

I'll remember that for next time. :Coffee: :Coffee:

I can't take credit for this photo but it gives you a real good idea where to look. There is a support member just aft and under the differential. The four digit number is stamped into that support. It's pretty close to the center of the differential. Mine had lots of dirt on it so I had to wipe it off before I could read the number. Guess I shouldn't ride so many miles :xszpv: :xszpv: pepper

Hey Jerry, So where is the number on an IRS model?:wave4: in case I need it.
Take care.
