SE tuner questions

So I have the SE tuner for the trike. The old owner had it tuned before I got it. I'm a novice with the tuner software. I folliwed a thread that explained how to use the tuner.*
I know the previous owner loaded a map not sure whether it was a dyno run or smart tune.

I have since decatted, added a kn with a freer flowing ac cover and added the tts100
What I'm trying to figure out is can I just run the record on the vci and load a smart tune, or do I have to load a canned map first. I don't have a copy of the map that the previous owner loaded and looking through the map list didn't see anything that was clear to what I got.*
Not really sure how to proceed here.

The VCI should contain the last map loaded, you can download this map from the VCI and see what they did. Your local dealer should also have a training CD which isn't that expensive, the CD should answer a bunch of questions.

I'll check the vci but I think everything was erased when an update occurred. I couldn't do anything in the software until the update was loaded.*
I followed the thread on one of the Harley forums for se tuner for dummies. I'm good until I try and find a map to load, can't find anything close.

As for the map with the TTS-100 cams, I'd choose the map for Stage 2 with the SE255 cams and tune from there.

OK, I need a clarification.

I have the SE Super Tuner Software and map files installed on my PC. In the map files I see two files associated to the SE-255 cam for 2015, Air-Cooled Touring engines:

Configuration
CR
Cam
Head
Throttle Body
Injector
File Name
1800 Stage 1
9.2
SE-255 (Std in CVO)
O.E.
50mm
4.3 gm/sec
617SEE204
1800 Stage 1 w/58mm Throttle Body
9.2
SE-255 (Std in CVO)
O.E.
58mm
4.3 gm/sec
617SGK202

Both appear to be for a 110 cid motor. One with a stock throttle body and the other with a 58mm throttle body. I also see the 9.2 CR parameter - I thought the 2015, 103 motor was 9.7 CR?

So, I assume you are speaking of file "617SEE204" (stock throttle body)?

If this is incorrect, please will someone provide the map file name that is correct.

Thanks,

Springman

I wish I could help, I don't have the latest software installed. I know you should be looking for a 1690 engine with 50 mm throttle body and SE255 cams, you need the Stage 2 map. Neither of the 2 maps you are showing will work without a whole lot of tweaking.

OK, there is this file:

044SBN004

The file above, "name = 044SBN004" is for a 2013 Touring bike/trike.
The CID is correct for a 2015 FLRT/TG
The CR is correct for a 2015 FLRT/TG
It is for a SE-255 cam set
For stock heads and throttle body (I think they are the same from 2013 to 2015?)
But, I am unsure on the 4.3 injector size (Anyone know the injector size for a stock, 2015 Freewheeler?)

So, would/could I use this map file as a baseline for tuning a TTS-100 cam in a 2015 FLRT?

Injector size is correct, that map should work since your's isn't liquid cooled. I'm surprised they don't have a 2015 MY touring specific map. Is your software the lastest? I believe you can get the latest software here http://prosupertuner.harley-davidson.com/SuperTuner.aspx by punching in your VCI serial number.

YEP! This is where I downloaded my current install and map file library from on 4/28/15. The only 2015 Touring files referenced to the SE-255 Cams are for 110 CID, CVO motors.

So, with the injector size confirmed: The initial, baseline map to tune a 2015 FLRT or TG with a TTS-100 cam installed would be the map file: 044SBN004.dt0

The above mentioned file is actually found in the library map references as for a 2013 Touring model.

The more I think about it, I'd use a Stage 1 map as a starting point and tune from there. Surly they have a Stage 1 map for your MY.

There is a 2015 stage 1 map. And, I have just spent several hours comparing it to the SE-255, stage 2 map in question.......to me, there is a lot of difference between the two.....

So, I will next have a conversation with the folks at TTS on this.....

You'll see a big difference in timing, the SE255 with its very early intake close doesn't like a bunch of timing or it will ping. Differences in the VE tables us also to be expected, when you smart tune you'll take care of the VE table difference. The timing table can be addressed if it becomes an issue.

Will talk with TTS and keep you posted.

I will be following as I'm having the same issue. Can't find a close map. The closet I've found is the same as you have the*044SBN004. The only thing that worried me is that it listed big bore cylinders.*
I talk to tts and he wasn't v very helpful. Only thing he could tell me was to find something using the 255 cam and go from there. He had no knowledge of the SE tuner.*

Problem I'm having now is I can't load any map or even do a smart tune record. I connect up the vci to my laptop and bike it shows green and connected. The boxes highlight and I can choose them. But when I get to the screen to reflash I can't click on enable smart tune reflash box our the adaptive fuel box. The program button won't allow me to click on it either. I've downloaded and reinstalled the software but still can't get it to load.

I've tried also to do the smart tune, I go through the procedure and it says ready to record disconnect from the laptop, but it does nothing when I hit the black button. The red led doesn't come on and flash. I know it works because when I connect it up the red led lights up for a second and goes out.
I'm stumped.

I looked on my tuner & couldn't see anything with the 255 cams, but did see some on the new SE585's. Would that be close? They are supposedly a low end torque cam.

OK, TTS recommending to start with a SE-255 map over a basic stage 1 map - past that, they really had no advice.

It'll be interesting to see how that works out, you'll have to keep us up to date.

Oh, I forgot to state one other important note on the TTS-100:

Vicki stating they won't have any to ship for another 4 weeks. - So, that will be 7 weeks from my request to order was put in....

Ok disregard my last question. After rereading the directions over and over,I realized I wasn't r turning the run stop switch to run. Got the map loaded so hopefully the rain will stop so I can test ride.

I called a buddy at Harley and told him what I have. He said go with the*044SBN004 to start.
