I have a new Akrapovic Exhaust for my 2016 Can Am RT Limited. Does anyone know if you can drill out the packing or would it be better to just pull the baffle? Also, if either is completed will it hinder the performance?

Those exhaust sound great just the way they are... Why monkey with it. That said' Probably would hurt the performance.. But some do equate noise with performance ....

That's what I thought. Checking with dealer too

Yes they do sound better than most. And the longer they are used the better they sound as they burn out some of the dampening material.

My wife's didn't start sounding really good until over 10,000 miles though. Or just about the time the engine was getting broke-in.

How many miles does this particular trike have on it if you don't mind saying?

Give it some time then. You'll notice it start sounding a little better after 3,000 miles and it just gets better until it's a very nice rumble. Or at least I think so. You won't really notice unless you get something that will bounce the sound back to you like those concrete dividers or better yet a tunnel. Then you really notice it.

Put the bypass pipe on and that will change the sound too..

Splain.....what's a by-pass pipe? That's a new one on me. Maybe my wife knows about it since she monitors the Spyder forums. But she's never come to me saying....Do this by-pass thing. What's it actually do?

Rhino 2, Are you kidding me that a Forum where you had been a valued member would ask you to leave simply because you didn't currently own that type of machine? How lame is that:qpnmt: Nobody, I mean nobody, has a lock on the "best" machine. They all have their pluses and minuses. I think Bazooka hosting this site and building a bunch of trikes from different manufacturers adds credence to the fact that there is no one "right answer" for our needs.

Well to be honest' When ask why i sold the Spyder by some members' I probably should have candy coated the reasons... And I'm not sure but i think Can-Am is a quasi owner of that forum.. I do know that the boss gets his Spyders on the Cuff..Wink -Wink.. And to be the Devils Advocate it is an only Spyder forum..All same -same bike forums are very protective of their brand.. That includes Harley and Victory forums to name just a few..

Bwaaaaahhhaaaaaaaa, I straddle both fences so they can kiss my emissions control unit known as my butt! Just because the Harley is bloated weight wise and underpowered doesn't mean that we don't love them:p And just because it takes 5-7 computers to run a Can-Am doesn't mean that their CPU superiority is worth squat:AGGHH: All of these machines are essentially discretionary purchases and our preferences are guided by our needs across a lot of different dimensions (status, reliability, performance, cost, etc.). Now that I know you have jumped over to the "other side", I will likely not share my Can-Am secrets with you so that you won't run to mother Harley and tell them that they need to consider possible different designs that may end up looking more like Can-Am's (the heaven's forbid):gah:

Rhino 2, I posed this question to my brother's and sister's on the HDFORUMS website in the General Discusssion/BS Section. It will be interesting to see what their reactions are including the moderators. Sometimes, I just feel like stirring the crap pot when I hear of stupid stuff going down.

Like Harley Davidson Forums..... Mention another Forum on Their Forum and The'll delete it... Do it twice and that might get you banned.
There are quite a few insecure people out there... :cxtv:

Well, it will be interesting to see:Shrug: I would hope that people's egos are not that fragile but you never know? I ride motorcycles/trikes because they are fun. I do a lot of other things because they are fun. When the people I am doing something with cease to become fun, I avoid them because I am afraid that life is too short and I want to continue to have fun. Spending my time on Forums is fun because we tend to learn a fair amount from others who have paid the price to learn and share. If people get too judgmental, there are certainly more fun groups of people to share my time with than those folks:pepper:

Rhino 2, I am getting a lot of fun responses over on that "other" website. People who ride Harleys seem to be a bit more tolerant. May be the time of year or maybe they just don't give a rip about what people ride all that much:p

Its a cat bypass pipe that take the spot of the cat converter similar to the Harley Cat Bypass. Basically a pipe with no restriction.

Not unless you want to remove the cat and weight. You may get a bit more HP but loose on the torque a bit. I really see no benefit.

It will have more noise too. From the videos I has seen and heard between the pipe and muffler change it sounds like one of them cars on the fast and furious :D

I have a 14 and have no heat problems and am happy with the bikes response when giving it gas.
