2020 CVO

I don't get it either. I had salesmen at a dealer that is a friend of mine try sell me at 5k over for their CVO trike, I don't think so, I never have and never will and he knew that but still had the balls to try. Then he got pissed when I bought it at the dealer I usually buy from. There's a dealer in town that still has a dodge Demon on the show room floor and he is asking 30k over sticker. I asked if they would sell it at sticker and they won't. I hope it sits there forever. GREED

Not greed......Salesmanship......Someone comes in and says i like that one, But the price is too high.....Well let me show you something in your price range.....And believe me they will get someone to buy it....They have plenty of other vehicles to sell so a specialty draws people in.....And it will get sold sooner or latter each dealer only gets two CVO'S....I never heard of a vehicle sent back to the factory because it couldn't be sold...

I would agree if the salesmen set the price, but the dealership owner or sales manager decides to get over sticker and that is where the greed starts. IMO If your a CVO buyer like I am you are not going to go back to a lesser model because they want to much for the CVO, if your not a CVO buyer and do not understand why people would buy a CVO in the first place seeing one over sticker should not justify paying to much for a standard model.

I love the CVO line and somehow have convinced myself right or wrong the price is justified. But common sense tells me its not worth over sticker. That's just me. Some Buyers will pay the extra I guess.

The MSRP is 48999.00 has anyone bought one for less than this?

Terry....Welcome To Trike-Talk...........:clapping:......

As far as under list, Supposedly each dealer only gets Two CVO Trikes so i don't think they will come off of list.....And some will probably sell for over list...

I think eventually they will - it costs them a certain amount per month to have it sit there. Not sure how much but eventually it will start digging into their profit. What year is the Demon??

Your best served to take them off and sell them. They will only give book by the vin and hope to get the extras for free. let use know if you get the CVO at list. Some dealers are saying that just to get you in.

What is recommened to use for the paint protection from rock chips and bugs?:Dorag:

My 14 came with Expel clear bra on the fenders, side covers, basically anything that can be scratched by a passenger, or racks. I've been really happy with it. It claims to be "self healing". I have had a small rock "dent" in the Expel clear bra ... although it didn't totally repair itself, you gotta look really close to see it now.

My tri is black, so it shows everything, and still the rock dent is hard to find.

Almost forgot, I did the ceramic coating on all the paint and wheels ... good stuff and bugs wash right off.

I installed the Harley PPF (paint protection film) on my 2018 and was pleased except that the portion covering the rear fenders was just not wide enough and I got a couple rock pecks on the fenders just outside the area the film covered. I'm thinking Harley did that because any wider and the edges of the film would get to where the fender begins to curve and would probably increase the difficulty of installation for the DIYer like myself.

I did find a local shop that was willing to replace the fender section and make it wider . . . but I was not pleased in that his installation was not as good as mine and there were several trapped air bubbles, ets., and I had to go back twice to have the job done over. While the film was wider I was not pleased with the installation.

On my new 2020 I'm planning to go with HogSkins and their complete PPF kit: https://www.hogskinspaintprotection.com/product/hs14-new-ctg/

They tell me the fender section is wider than the Harley kit and the complete kit includes protection for the front also - outer fairing, front fender, cowbells, lower fairing, and gas tank where it meets the seat. They will install and even though they are 370 miles from me I'm planning to trailer my TG up there and have them do the installation sometime before the end of March.

I have the same PPF as Fuzzy. I started out with the Harley kit as you did and was not happy. I took it to a local detail shop and had them do it. I am very happy with the job they did. Rear fenders are covered over the edge. They did front fender and upper and lower fairings. It also covered where the war departments feet may hit when she gets on. I had a ceramic coating put over that. So far so good. I think you will be good with the job they do. I have heard noting but good from the folks at Hogskins.

Jerry, where is hogskins located?

Terry the owner (or one of the owners?) is in Ozark, MO, a suburb of Springfield, MO. But the shop location is in Springfield he said. Just select the link on the website to 'Contact' and he'll get back with you. Very customer focused and a wealth of information.

I just wish I could find an installer here locally that I felt confident in but some of them don't want to work on a trike at all and those that are willing have never done it before. So I don't want them learning on mine, lol.

It's going to be a huge inconvenience to drive 370 miles each way for the install but I think it will be well worth it.

2020 cvo engine knocking with 543.5 miles on it

Well brought my 2020 cvo on 1/25/2020, did the 500 mile break in period at 50 mph, at 543.5 miles on it started knocking bad, we was only .5 mile for the home, call dealer, they came and picked it up last Friday and gave me one reason right behind another, final they told me that the lifer had air in it, and told me that it had almost 600 miles on and did I want to go ahead and do the 1000k service.

I ask them did they figure out was the problem was and they said they started it up and let it run form awhile and the knocking went away and that they were going to let if cool back down and start it the next morning,.

The next day got a call and they said that they talked harley in replacing the from two lifter and ask did I still want them to do the 1000k service and that I would have to pay for it....

You think they would changed the oil in the as part of the warranty while they replaced the front two lifters....I mean come on I paid 50k for this bike.... No support at all from them!!!:furious::furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:

For 100% protection the only thing you can do is let it set in the garage and wax it, IMHO.

I'm in western TN now visiting a buddy who has the whole Harley protection kit on his and both of his fenders (2018) have taken dings anyway. I run Harley bras 80% of the time and while I may not have any dings in the face of my fenders I just got a serious one on the side of my trunk (2019).

The bottom line is what is the comfort level on the amount of wear and tear your ride is going to show. Before I retired we couldn't ride all the time so I would probably spend about as much time detailing my Harleys as I would actually riding it. Now since we ride almost daily having it in "showroom" condition every day just isn't important.

12 years old most of the paint chips are from getting in and out of Tour pac. Previous owners didn't know or care about scratches, I have done the best buffing out most. It is what it is time to ride ...
