auto shifter

they say you dont have to use clutch to shift is this true

I have a Pingle on my '10 GL and I always use the clutch when shifting. Just seems to me it doesn't strain the clutch and transmission as much. I don't want to have a clutch or tranny problem. Just my nickel's worth.

On the Honda all gears are in constant sync. You can shift without the clutch. I do sometime just fooling around. I never down shift without it.

I have been running pingle since 06 & 3different trikes I never use clutch upshifting but usualy on the downshift.
Theres a ignition cutoff that takes the pressure off the drive line to complete the shift.
Almost 80 k on that shifter I wont leave home without it.
