New England rally

I notice Chicopee is only 13 miles from Belchertown. there is a Hampton Inn or Comfort Inn there. Both have breakfast included. Just one idea.

Jonesy has generously agreed to lead a ride, and mentioned Mystic CT as a destination. Does that sound good to everyone?

Personally I was hoping for a ride Saturday, then an early cookout on Sunday - I figured that would leave people free to "wander off" whenever they need to on Sunday. But that's just my opinion. I think we should leave it to the group consensus (and of course, the weather! LOL).

I have to agree with Bozo. That would get me closer to home also. Driving that close only to drive all the way back up and have to drive back down again. So we drive up either fri night stay over or drive up Sat morning. Have our BBQ or what ever, trophies, grab bag / raffle , kick tires. If weather is nice on Sun go for th ride to New London have lunch and people can go wher ever. Some can follow
Us back to NY area, the others follow Spirit Dream North , and the NJ southern folk follow Bozo.:)

That would leave us in NH with a 3+ hour ride back to NH & some, like my wife has to work in the morning. so if we get to Mystic at about 2PM to 3PM and hang for an hour then it would be 7PM+ by the time we get home barring any delays. Again, everything depends on the weather, if it is storming, then heading home would be top priority, I would think.
Like John says, some it would be closer to home, but others it would be further.
I would think a ride Saturday afternoon would be the ticket, then back to a meeting place to swap stories. Sunday we can chill for the morning and leave for home, when we get ready. Some may go to a place closer to home, South, for a ride, while the Northern group ride towards a place closer to home. Have two destinations planned, one South, the other North for the rides on Sunday, this way, everybody will be getting closer to home as we ride on Sunday.
Food for thought!

Sounds like a plan . I would not want any one to be hung out to far from home. My wife has to be in bed by 9:30 Sunday.

NYTriker & myself will be heading back to South of Buffalo,N.Y. on Sunday so we'll probably have the longest ride back. Hope we don't have to deal with another Hurricane this year. I imagine we'll talk about it @ Longshots in Lake George Saturday......

Forgot to mention previously. I will probably be riding up Friday afternoon to make it a little easier on my wife. So if anybody wants to meet up Friday night, whatever town we end up in, let me know. I plan on Port Jeff to Bridgeport ferry.

I was thinking if the wife gets out of work early, hit the road and stay over Friday night and Saturday and head back to NH on Sunday's ride.
Where to stay is still in the air, as to where the rally will be. As soon as we pick a place, then the nearest town with good rooms will be the place.
I give us 2+ hours to get there easy riding, not pushing the limit, so maybe by supper time we should be coming in. Have a bite and then sit a meet up with the gang to share stories. It would be nice to park the trike and walk to a place to have fun, or if the hotel/motel has a place, that would be better.
Saturday we can take off and be at the rally spot, without being on the road for 2+ hours to get there.
So, TBD, rally spot, nearest town with good rooms, social hour place, and what time to meet on Saturday!?

Thats the ticket for me, in on friday, meet and b s friday night, ride on sat., relax and b s, that night. Sunday breakfast then everyone can leave at their choosing and get home when they want. I mentioned Mystic Seaport, ct. to Cherri for a ride, Gillette Castle in Ct. could also be done. I've heard its pretty cool place. Any ideas from you folks.

Time to tie up all the loose ends
We need to decide where we are going to stay, I plan on Fri night to Sun am
We need to decide if the BBQ or eat someplace
A count of people would be great
I come up with 10 , looks like maybe 6 trikes....
I need a list and sizes , still trying to work a shirt deal
Prices are not as cheap as I thought. One shirt per trike .
Copy this list then past it on new reply page add your name and size .This is the final count

2 John med , Harlene

Still have two months of shoulder therapy, but doc has said I can ride at Labor Day. Asked if the end of August is okay, and he said, "What's a week." Will certainly give our trike a try. Jeannette can follow me in our cage if she has concerns. Friday evening to Sunday morning is fine with us. See you there!

John, is there anything I can do to help from this end. I have a friend who has an embroidery shop, so maybe we can compare prices if you have a specific design worked out for the New England Rally. If you do, e-mail me the design so I can get it to the shop for a price. Also, what color shirts you were thinking about, and thread colors for the design.
Hey, if there is anything else, let me know.

I am new to all of this! What/where is this Rally? I'm in the Boston area. Am unable to camp but.. motel yes.

Hi Suga, welcome to TrikeTalk!! Be sure to also sign up for Trike Owners International, the "official" riding group for TrikeTalk. No fees, no politics!!

Just so that you know up front - the New England rally is actually more of a gathering of TrikeTalk members in the general New England area, a chance to meet & greet fellow riders who are more local. We have no vendors, demos, etc like most people expect from a "rally". This year it's planned for August 25/26. Keep watching the threads for more info, and hopefully plan on joining us - we'd love to meet you (and that beautiful trike!!) in person! :)

Just to make it perfectly clear, this is not a closed rally, it is FREE ,if you are in the area join us . The more the merrier. Even if you live in OHIO , you are welcome to join us. No one will be refused. I would like to know if you are stopping by but it is not required , we love surprises . The place it will be held will be ( I hope ) announced soon. :D
