What is the best windshield cleaner I can carry in my saddlebag

I was out riding the other night and my windsheild started to film up, I think it was the humidity but not sure. I ended up at Menards and bought a roll of paper towels and went to the bath room and got 3 or 4 towels wet and used this to clean the windsheild. Is there something I can carry with me to do this. I am not sure how safe is the paper towels are on my windsheild?

Thanks

Mike

paper can scratch,,, i use a plastic cleaner that seems to last for a long time,,, after it gets bugs again i use car wash soap and a soft squeegee,, works great.

We always have a soft, microfiber or flannel cloth with us and a can of spray Plexus. It is great for any part of the bike or trike, including the windshield!

I use Wizard Mist and Shine. It cleans windshields, fairings, lowers, chrome, you name it. It will also take the bugs off if you don't wait more than a day or two. Wizard does have a bug remover as well that I also use ocasionally. Several of the salesmen at our HD use it all the time to keep the showroom bikes clean and shining. I use nothing but microfiber clothes both as the cleaning rag and as the polisher. It comes in a spray bottle (22 oz) and tucks away in the tour-pak or put it in a smaller 8 oz spray bottle for just day trips to clean the windshield.

2011 Merlot and Black TG, lift kit, deflectors, cat removed using SE header pipes and of course some bling.

Re: What is the best windsheild cleaner I can carried in my saddlebag

Just came back from a ride tonight and the inside of the windsheild started to film up again starting from the top of the windshield. Is this common and is there a way to prevent this?
Thanks
Mike

WIZARD where do you get the time to wash windsheilds thought people kepted you busy tuning their bikes and trikes, any way I use any good detailer and micro cloth. If bugs are real bad I heat a towel in hot water to loosin them up and just wipe them off, then a little wax helps.

I've been using hydogen-peroxide for yrs on the windshield, works great.I also use it on the my lower legs, frt fairing, all the frt lites & the frt of the rear fenders.Mist a lil on & all the bugs just foam up.two micro fiber towels & if i'm not in a hurry i follow it up with Wizards Mist & Shine.

Gloria cleans houses, and one of them has a water ionizer/purifier. Every week she comes home wit a gallon of ionized/purified water. The stuff doesn't streak or water spot. I have some in an 8 oz spray bottle glasses cleaner came in. Mist it on, let it set for a minute and the bugs come off easily. I use a much washed and soft 12x12 terry cloth towel to get the bug parts off, then a microfiber to remove any water and polish. Seems if there are any hard parts on the shield they get stuck on the microfiber and are a bear to get out. Don't want to scratch the plastic.

I have Plexus for shining and polishing on wash (rain/snow) days, but the ionized water works for on-the-road touchups and the price is right.

There are anti-fogging treatment for visiors/windshields, havent tried any yet.

My Grandpa told me back in the Model-T days they used to rub an onion in the inside of the windshield to keep it from fogging up. He said do the treatment before you need to sit in the car - wouldn't be manly to be driving and crying. Don't know if this would harm the plastic or the hard coating.

The hydrogen peroxide sounds like a good idea when they are on thick. Does it make the bugs turn blond? ;)

yea they foam right up!It's just 3-5% hyd-peroxide ya get at any discount place,& it is cheap!I clean my bikes everytime i ride,& all the other stuff was getting pretty expensive. An old man yrs ago told me about it,he probably wasn't much older than i am now.haha

Get synthetic wax called ICE by turtle wax and a micro fiber cloth, works great on everything on your trike including windshield, very very similar to PLEXUS but cheaper in price. Walmart in the Auto department

My dad who is 84 got me waxing my windshield 35 years ago.. have been doing it ever since. I have never bought a window cleaner or windex for either car or bike!

Likewise.

The can seems to last a long, long time.

I use Plexus and a micro fiber hand towel. Works great two years of using it on present windshield and it looks like new except a couple of rock pecks.

I have used this combination for five years and no complaints cept for the cost of the Plexus. lasts a long time though.
